He's just... nothing. He doesn't make any glaring mistakes, but he also never seems to do anything positive. He also seems like he's just completely emotionless out there. I'd deal him in a heartbeat just for a late pick to get his cap hit off of the books for next year.

Top 10 worst in the last decade though? Not even close. I'm inclined to think that poster is a youngish Ranger fan... Most of us have seen brutal, not just the 'meh' that Pyatt brings.

He offers nothing all that great. He's not a liability but he doesn't provide us anything on special teams, he's not really a great grinding forward because of his slow foot speed, he doesn't hit.

He had a good start in NY, but he's been a complete non-factor for a long time now. If we can get rid of him at the deadline for ANYTHING, you do it. I was never a huge fan of the signing, then felt good about it for the few weeks he was hot, now I think you cut your losses with this guy.

All I am going to say is I told you so.. He flat out sucks doesn't hit doesn't skate well and omg worst wrist shot I have ever seen

on paper i viewed Pyatt as an upgrade over Feds and maybe provide some grit that was lost in Dubinsky... sadly he was neither. The guy has been through a lot, and i really feel for him, however he has to be one of most inconsequential players ever to put on NYR uniform.

Maybe, just maybe you take these things into consideration BERORE you sign someone, especially when you're letting a player like Fedetenko go, who has chemistry with the team?

As great as the Nash trade was, the bottom six moves were so awful this offseason, it's unbelievable.

Well i disagree with most of those. At least some of them brought SOMETHING. Players like Olli? Rucchin? Drats? Voros? Lisin? Drury? Hossa? Struds? Hossa? Miro? Fro? Some were just draft busts that shouldnt be in it, Dawes, Lund, Balej...players brought in to be 6/7 man shouldnt be included, Woywitka? the others id put all in front of Pyatt who hasnt brought anything.

If you think Pyatt is worse/brings less to the table than Voros..I don't even know what to say. I would still take Pyatt over Voros every day of the week and twice on Sundays. If you want to talk about a completely useless player, Voros is your man. His main "role" was that of a fighter. And he was absolutely god awful at that. He won maybe 3 fights in his entire NHL career, and that might be generous.

Out of that big list, there's easily 12 players exponentially worse in their time as Rangers than Pyatt has been.

He doesn't suck. He isn't good.

He's just...there.

This pretty much sums it up.

You are wrong sir. The title of worst wrist shot in history belongs to Scott Gomez, now and forever. I'd go as far as to describe his shot as flaccid. Yea, it was that bad.

But Pyatt really is just a warm body. Whoever described him as such is dead on. He's useless.

****. Stole it from me. Gomez had a terriawful shot.

He's pretty much useless. Gets outmuscled along the boards way too much for his size, molasses can skate laps around him, hasn't done anything in what feels like ions.

Top-10 however??

Lefebrve, Karpa, Ulanov, Toms, Sweeney, S. Pronger, Malik, Poti, Malakhov, Quintal, LaCroix... Guys like THAT should be involved in that discussion.

Malik was good for a while , poti was also Pratt had a good week

I remember jokingly I was predicting him to be the first person to score a goal for the season followed immediately by saying he would then score maybe 4 goals the entire rest of the season.

Oh NY teams you always dissappoint and yet you never dissappoint.

get a pick for him tomorrow and move out that contract OR better yet a rental C for the 3/4 line

I posted this in the Haley thread. Should have put it in this thread:

Pyatt should have been the real whipping boy after the first month, but the suckage of Gaborik and Richards overshadowed the absolute uselessness of Pyatt. Now that Gaborik has been jettisoned and Richards seems to be reinvigorated, Pyatt is getting his due. He's escaped whipping boy status long enough. He's up there with Jeff Toms, Kevin Stevens, Valeri Kamensky, and Rich Pilon in terms of my most hated Rangers.

Useless and invisible are the kind words to call Pyatt.
