Uhh, replacing JVR/Bozak with Tavares/Johnsson is a major defensive win.

True but I feel like Nylander has untapped 30-40 goal potential while also being able to slow down the play and be a play maker. His release is elite and his wrist and snap shot is so quick. Seems like the perfect compliment for JT's hybrid game of goal scoring/play making.

Marner is a magician that can rack up assists while Matthews buries pucks in the net. I prefer Nylander's shot taking Tavares passes.

However, not going to complain either way. Either pairing is lights out.

However it plays out, we went from Joey Crabb centering Kessel to Matthews/Tavares and I can't wipe the grin off my face.

Mirtle wrote that Dubas' presentation was very impressive to Tavares, outlining his plan in great detail...very articulate and meticulous work...we have to thank Dubas for his diligence and work in landing Tavares.

Tavares changes everything. He played with scrubs for most part of his career and still was PPG. But more importantly, he has become a great 2 way power forward with excellent defensive skills especially this past year. You add the size/strentgh to you have improved defense and a matchup nightmare for most teams

He has a 10 team list. In spite he just as to list off our division teams and a few more that can't afford him or fit him in. That's all it is and he hates Melnyk and may just be spiteful enough to try and make this happen.

EK to Toronto may be closer than you think.

He also makes players better. How good is Marner going to be playing with Tavares and vise versa.
