??? This group has accomplished nothing. The proof will be in the pudding and you can appreciate once/if they win anything of significance.

Teams who usually “win” in July don’t win in June.

I know youre a realist and all but you gotta be happy too right?!

When your girl buys a sexy green lingerie set - you get frikkin happy!! Not thinking about wether or not she will pull it off properly.

Cause chances are she WILL

And its Tavares with 34, 29, 16!!!!

Comon Dave!!

Now you just win a Cupnthis coming season or lose Marner Nylander or Mathews.

Leaf fans, all jokes aside, what’s up with your blue line? Need 2-3 good dmen now

We have Liljegren coming up, Dermott is on the rising and with forward prospects goes as deep as ECHL is going to help us make a trade if needed. We already have our #1 just need some solid pieces that compliments his game and we are going to make it happen. One step at a time.

Please stop being a NEGATIVE NANCY!

Time, and Dubas, will take care of our other team needs!

Heard on Sportsnet that San Jose offered Tavares $13 million per season. When you factor in California's more favorable tax rate, that is a lot of money Tavares left on the table in order to join the Leafs. Feels good that he actually wanted to go to Toronto enough to do that.

14m is a lot of moeny to live out a dream. Thank goodness he has a bout 2m in Endorsements per year to square it up.

Even in the later years? I get giving him more first couple years, he can bank it and it’s actually worth more in the end because he can invest it and it grows.
Every year the bonus is paid out July 1st aka as fast as possible. And they're limited in how much the contract can drop year to year.

Is 11M a discount though? McD got 12.5, and I don't think he was going to get more than him lol.

Tavares was a UFA, McDavid was an RFA...not the same...if anything, McDavid's cap hit doesn't help the Oilers in the long run.

Wow, I haven't been as much of a Leaf fan as I was before the Jets came back but I was really hoping Tavares would come home
Congrats guys! Hopefully this becomes the new Crosby/Malkin dynamic :yo:

A bit different with Mats. He left us when he was 36? Tavares is leaving them at 27.
