guy is bigger and more durable than Dorsett or Carcillo.
If you trust AV, trust this deal.
Its not much $$

It kind of is.

Only really bad management would think signing Tanner Glass as anything other than a zamboni operator is a good idea.

3 years, 1.5 for a 4th liner in itself isn't atrocious. It's the process involved with signing such a bad player.

I certainly respect the fact that everyone is entitled to their opinion. What I find a little amusing is that people on these boards believe they are smarter than the NHL GM's.

Sather gonna Sather, I guess. He was able to hold off having an enforcer on this roster for about a year and that was too long of an absence for him.

These types of players never last the duration of their contract either.. No way is Glass still a Ranger in 2 years. Sather still hasn't learned from this.

Tanner glass takes away any joy from Moore resigning. I like tough hockey players but he isn't skilled at all. Disgusting 3 yr abomination, morons.

The guy can play at the NHL level , otherwise we wouldn't even be discussing him. Point being, he must have skills that allow him to get paid to play in the league. Let's at least give the guy a chance, never know ... Dorsett was horrible IMO, so it can't really get any worse for the role...

Why 3 years? What kind of negotiations were there? How does anyone look at Tanner Glass and bring themselves to give him 3 years?

It CAN get worse.

Dorse was bad. Glass is atrocious.

I, for one, would rather have some HF posters as my teams GM than the likes of Dave Nonis, George McPhee, and the myriad of other moronic GMs around this leauge.

Just because someone is a GM doesn't mean they're smart.

1.45MM over THREE years? WTF? You're doing this goon a favor by giving him three years. Cash or term, punching bag. Not both.

At that term, the deal should've been at the maximum buriable amount. This is shades of Rissmiller/Voros.

WHY?

Yes, about 500K. Anything above 925K (950K? something like that) counts against the cap if you're sent down.

So for less than the difference we could have kept Dorsett for a year.

Dorsett 1.6

Glass demotion penalty 500K

Glass 1.45

1.6 - 1.45 is 150K

Sather is a moron. He didn't save cap space. He made it worse.
