On Binnington and rebounds: yes, it would be great if Binnington could cut those down. Maybe we can look at some of them and say "yeah, that's a spot where he's got to not allow a rebound" though I think that's less easy to do than most people think. Maybe he can be coached on that some. [Cue questions on whether we even have the right goalie coach, just like questions on whether we have the right staff behind the bench.]

But if you know your goalie is going to give up rebounds, at some point you have to plan your defense around that. The Blues either don't have that or guys aren't executing on it. We can all recall that from the early 2000s, where teams would get a shot on net and our goalie would give up the rebound, and we had 2-3 guys camped out there to control the puck and severely limit follow-up chances. Right now, it's like our players think they need to leave the 12 feet around the goalie free and clear and they're shocked when the opposition goes in and scoops up rebounds.

If you thought Parayko was interfered with earlier on the Bruins 1st goal, he got it back on Kyrou's goal. [I didn't think it was earlier, I didn't have an issue with it there.]

Won't be a shutout. Hopefully it doesn't start some comeback that ruins the target result.

yeah... I ended up playing goal for a few years because we couldn't get guys to show up consistently.
and you can KNOW what you wanna do, but sometimes you just can't. people wonder why anyone wastes their time with a sharp angle shot? cause if it hits the goalie there's no where else it can go except right out into the slot.
trust me.. it's a sickening feeling lol
the one goal off his shoulder... right in between getting the glove on it and being able to square the shoulder up.. again.. sux
should he be better on some of this stuff? I believe so. is he as bad as some folks are making him out to be? don't think so. try playing behind a bad team that's getting run around constantly. it's not easy

No issue with what Parayko did.

If any Bruns fans have an issue, then they can suck it.

I mean, theres a direct correlation every time he does

Kyrou is the next Captain

I'm sure it has nothing to do with people taking liberties and bumping him because this team doesn't do shit about it.

The goalie pads now a days pop out rebounds like mad. It's crazy how so many people think that a goalie can just control if his pads shoot a puck into the slot or not.

To be fair, how often does someone play their first game and through 20 minutes look like complete crap?

You're right about him being our only RHD prospect, though. We are woefully thin on prospect depth on defense, and none of them have particularly high ceilings. Getting any of them to pan out would be super helpful, but ultimately doesn't solve the longer-term top-4 dilemma we have.
Samorukov played 1 shift for Edmonton, Kyrou walked him, and then he never played for them again. They dealt him to us for Kostin. And we haven't played him. So Kessel seems better than him.

I actually like some of our LHD prospects (Loof, Buchinger, Gaudet, and the Russian we took last year). I think any of those guys have top 4 potential, maybe top 2, although chances of any becoming top 4 is not great. But i think at least a couple of them will be decent or better nhlers. we have NOTHING after Kessel on RHD.

Toropchenko is such a fun player to watch!!

He is all about moving forward.
If only he could move forward with someone else's hands.
