I think Faulk would fit much better on the Sabres than Parayko. Sabres seem to be a team that encourage their D to activate and value puck possession. Also less term on his contract.
I think they need another defense-first guy, especially if it is to pair with Power. Samuelsson has given Dahlin the ability to roam and activate and he is thriving. Give Power a stay at home guy and let him activate to his heart's content. I'd rather see that than a pair where Power and Faulk are both trying to activate and fire shots.

Yeah, imagine a top 4 of Dahlin, Samuelsson, Power, and Parayko. All that size brings back memories of our 2019 run.

Look at Power on this offensive zone sequence. All over the ice.

Parayko can't play this style of hockey. He'd just sit at the point and fire a low percentage shot or lob the puck back down to the corner killing the play.

Power's D partner on that play is #10. What is he doing in that clip that Parayko is not capable of doing? How many puck touches does he get on this sequence?

Owen Power doesn't need a partner who is all over the ice and activating all the time. He needs a partner who allows him to do all of those things. Samuelsson has 5 points while his partner Dahlin has 53. Jokiharju has 6 points while his partner Power is up to 18. No Buffalo D man besides Power or Dahlin has more than 1 goal or 8 points, yet the team is 2nd in league scoring. They don't need to add more offense and activation from the blue line. They need to get better at defending.

Threatens hadoffs, sets picks, constantly moves to open ice. All things Parayko is theoretically capable of doing, but he rarely does. If I were building a D corps I'd want as many smart activators that value puck possession as possible. Why do I need a defenseman that will play it safe? I need smart defenseman that know when to stay at home, but also when to activate.

In addition to bad positioning in the D zone most of our D suck at having the puck on their stick. Most of the offensive plays die on Parayko stick. He also isn't that good at passing. We don't even need to speak about Mikkola's skills. Faulk is ok but has been a lot worse this year. Leddy can skate it out but his passing is meh. Tucker is like a better version of Mikkola at passing the puck. Krug does ok but he also turns it over at the worse times. Any time there is slight pressure on our D when they are trying to pass the puck they cough it up making dumb plays or passing directly to the opposing players. Our forwards aren't helping them for sure but our D sucks at consistently getting the puck our of our zone. I've seen so many times the D turning the puck over in our zone or the neutral zone and it leads to so many goals.

Paul Maurice.

How did Krug look his first game back? 2 assists looks good on paper but how did he look overall?
It’s a shame Morrissey was held back so much by Maurice. It was easy to see the talent in him and Helleybuck while with the Moose.

I was wrong about Nic Petan, though. I thought he’d have a better experience in the NHL.

Love the GOAT in a goat head jersey in your avatar.

The Sabres have been my 2nd team going back to the Hasek days and I share @Blueston's thoughts about the links in our franchises/fanbases. Hope you guys keep enjoying Tage and win a Cup while he is there. I still absolutely love the O'Reilly trade and would love to see it lead to Cups for both teams.

I get that it's called the goat head jersey but isn't it a buffalo head jersey? It makes no sense for it to be a goat when the city is literally named buffalo.

how can we get power ? dudes gonna be a stud

That'll cost Krug, Mikkola and our 5th round pick this year.
