If the Canucks don’t screw this up, this could be one of the best tank days in a while, would pretty much negate the back to back wins

The thing is that this is one of their only hard games left. The rest of our schedule is ridiculously easy. The hardest team we play against is the Stars who we match up well against. Every other game is like vs Ari, SJS, or Chi

Arizona has been playing very good recently
Chicago and San Jose though, that’s scary

Thank god we lost to Detroit back to back a month ago. Looking massive now. Looking at everyone’s schedule we will draft 8th or 9th assuming they go 6-6 in the last 12.

The game against the Blues coming up will be must lose.
6-6 is pretty much best case scenario, would basically secure number eight, which puts us right on that line, so at the lottery we drop one spot and pick 9th lmao

Yikes, that is the definition of short sightedness. Aqua needs droves of fans like you that buy into this late season surge to buy season tickets.

If all those things happen at the expense of seeing Podkolzin/Aman/Kravtsov/Silovs/Delia develop while exposing the stars to injury, and they miss out on Bedard Fantilli Carlsson Michkov Smith Reinbacher... Then I'd rather not see it.
Great. Don’t watch the team.

I hear there will still be some plumbers and woodchoppers after the 10th pick, so there is that...

Stay positive Johnny boy!

It’s rough. I see the same shit every year. In this last decade we have made the playoffs once and have drafted top 3 zero times.

We are mathematically out of the playoffs by Christmas but then win before the end of the season so fans come back the next year optimistically.

Sick of the same shit.

EP getting 100 points? Kuzy chasing 40 goals? Seeing how Hronek fits on the team? I hope you aren’t too sad.

It's sad that all that can be happening and we aren't even close to making the playoffs...also don't forget Hughes breaking PPG as a dman.

Any of the top 4/5 guys would be huge. Lose the remaining games and you guarantee one of them.

If they were actually into Franchise building, they should be Tanking with Gusto.

More bad news:

Pretty well given up on the notion that the Canucks are ever in a position to draft Bedard. The only thing to be decided, is whether the Canucks fall out of the top-10 altogether.

But it just underscores how ludicrous and disappointing it was that the Canucks were even in the conversation for the first overall pick in the first place. I mean the likes of Anaheim, Columbus, Chicago and San Jose were planning for this all year long.

The Canucks, on the other hand, have two PPG center-men; a d-man in the legitimate Norris conversation; and a goalie who's proven to be one of the NHL's best when healthy.

There's simply no way they should have been this bad. And winning games in garbage time only makes an overall assessment of the season that much more of a bummer.

This team, from the front-office on down, dramatically underachieved this season.

Between the blown leads, the worst PK in the league, and the worst goaltending in the league, suuuuuuurely we can't be that bad next year....right? ;)

That's the thing. They could have suffered for another 15 games and finished with possible Bedard/Fantilli/Carlsson. They still would have 2 ppg centers and a Norris Calibre dman and Vezna goalie. Either way you aren't going to make the playoffs.

This is what makes it sting that much more for me. If we actually finished somewhere in the top five, at least we could be excited for a potential top line player. Even if they don't pan out into being a star, if they're a good player it makes this season stomachable.

Instead, we've played ourselves into the top ten and may even fall lower all because Tocchet needs to "build for next year!"

So unless we get incredibly lucky who we draft, this season was just a complete waste.

Can we please not play ourselves out of the bottom 11 and lose every mathematical chance at North Van's Bedard FFS

Sooooo Canuck

Umpteen years of no playoffs and another streak of late season moral victories. Nice to see some signs and them playing better, clear they are well out of finishing at bottom of lottery but it is annoying to see them play themselves right out of the lottery.

Detroit is cratering, we are barely ahead of Blues, other teams closer.

Would be sad to finish above the top 10
Don’t get why can t play some of the kids from Abbortsford instead of trying to win every game
