Pretty well given up on the notion that the Canucks are ever in a position to draft Bedard. The only thing to be decided, is whether the Canucks fall out of the top-10 altogether.
But it just underscores how ludicrous and disappointing it was that the Canucks were even in the conversation for the first overall pick in the first place. I mean the likes of Anaheim, Columbus, Chicago and San Jose were planning for this all year long.
The Canucks, on the other hand, have two PPG center-men; a d-man in the legitimate Norris conversation; and a goalie who's proven to be one of the NHL's best when healthy.
There's simply no way they should have been this bad. And winning games in garbage time only makes an overall assessment of the season that much more of a bummer.
This team, from the front-office on down, dramatically underachieved this season.
