I guess my angle there was, will they prioritize the ducks game because it is more winnable and this coach is absolutely obsessed with winning useless games over all else. If you start Demmer and lose you could be facing a "disastrous" two game losing streak with Delia on the back to back.

We were 5th last when we rushed a new coach in on an already lost season.

Every other bottom 10 team was either built to lose or has been selling everything that isn't nailed to the floor in an effort to dunk their team this year. This is the biggest race to the bottom by bottom 10 teams I've ever seen.

Do you think any of the players on these bottom 10 teams aren't trying to win? They're all trying to win. The Canucks are retooling. The Canucks even traded for a player they knew was injured and would take time to get back into the lineup in Hronek. If they were trying to make the playoffs, do you think they would have traded for a guy they knew would be weeks out?
They're not trying to 'win now'. The team is simply levelling out after historically terrible goaltending and a sub par defensive system under Boudreau. Now the team has structure under Tocchet, and I don't blame the FO for wanting to use the rest of the lost season to get his system in place rather than only give him training camp + preseason.
He himself even called the rest of this season an "extended training camp".
How can you blame the players for trying to win?
