Proposal: Tanev to Toronto

Crazy idea that no one's thought of, right? I'm not a Leafs fan but the fit makes too much sense to me.

Leafs get
D Chris Tanev

Canucks get
RW Jeremy Bracco
D Travis Dermott
LW Leo Komarov
+?

Bracco and Dermott are great prospects and Komarov can either be kept as leadership or traded for a decent haul at the deadline. I imagine the Leafs would have to add to this package, what would the Canucks want?

Bracco is 3rd In ppg in the ohl currently at 2.0 ppg
And dermott is our 2nd best d prospect.
I'm sure van would want more like I said not sure how much more it would take, if they're even intrested.

don't agree. nylander is a 20 year old that is a natural center. he has the best points per game avg from his draft class so far. he is going to be great for us. no disrespect to tanev, but you don't trade 20 year old gems when you're rebuilding. not unless you're getting back a top pairing d-men that can produce on both ends of the ice.


I agree that jvr/kadri based deals are a waste of time tho

Stop. There's been enough of these threads. There isn't a deal here.

We don't want or need your 2nd tier prospects. I'm not saying they don't have value, but they aren't really going to change our fortunes.

It's either one of the big three (which understandably is a no go) or there is no deal. Unless the package is just an insane overpayment where the + is nearly your entire haul of decent prospects.

I'm happy to let sleeping dogs lie.

no, he won't be moved... Management is extremely high on him (which they should be) and he will eventually be on Nylanders line
