gotta be some accountability somehow. cant keep feeding matthews' offensive guys like marner and nylander when he has been underwhelming.

spread out the offense ->create match up problems -> use last change to your advantage

don't force matthews to go against their top pair D when he is sucking ass; and if they want to play their top d gainst matthews then either nylander line or marner line will get easy match up

Lets be honest here... Tampa is all over them, not giving the Leafs much room... heck, they have been lucky to even get in Tampas zone, let alone out of their own zone. They're on em like flies on shit.

Maybe we can get some opinions if Sergachev is even with Marner in this picture, and would have caught up to him because he is the far better skater.

We've more than doubled their xG this game. I'm sick of moral victories at this point as a Leafs fan, but it's not like we're playing bad.

It would be nice if Simmonds didn't have more than 1/5 of our xG though. Pretty much anyone else on the team would/should have a goal with his chances.

Well....there is a lot more to this than what you are insinuating like how the Bolts had to go through a similar process, similar to how the capitals had to go through as well before they touched the holy grail. Not to mention with the changing of economics the money is a lot higher for upcoming players in general as the salaries of players increase, etc, etc. Hence Vasigod is paid more than stamkos, their captain.

Yes our big boys are not scoring atm, but they have been more awake than team.

I wouldn't call all those oddman rushes and clear chances being great defensively. It's all I'm saying. If the Leafs had allowed those kind of chances, I don't think we'd be thrilled or in a rush to call them good defensively.

But sure, they did well to box out and taking away seconds chances.

An intelligent enforcer, which Simmonds is, either evens things up immediately after the infraction against his teammate, or waits until later and if the game is out of reach then he goes.

Go watch the similar hit by McSorley on Dougie Gilmour and then Wendel Clark shows you how it's supposed to be handled.

Matthews is underperforming and deserves to be shitted on.

When he is playing great people worship him and say he's Mcdavid level. That is how this fanbase is.

He wanted all the fame, and now he's failing and failing hard. He's running out of excuses. It's game 8, not game 3 since he came back from his injury.

doesnt really require explanation. Matthews has played better than either Marner or Tavares tonight. And he’s not the reason the group of stars are underproducing as someone else erroneously claimed
