Such a meaningful game to Toronto! So meaningful they sat Matthews when he can more then likely play right now, along with Muzzin and then started the backup goalie.

My favorite is seeing a bunch of posters you haven't seen in the past 2 or 3 weeks start posting after a game like this.

Only thing meaningful in this game was Stamkos getting his record points against hometown team.

We didnt have our starting Goalie so imma let it pass and not overreact.

But its hilarious to see the Leafs fold when the opposition starts playing at a playoff intensity level. It's in every team scouting report for the leafs. Start playing physical and tight-checking and watch leafs fold like paper

Keefe basically sent a message via a megaphone to Tampa Bay before the game even started,

"We're not worried about you. Instead of letting Campbell get into a rhythm, get his confidence up, let him play when he's on a good roll, instead we'll feed your our garbage 3rd stringer goaltender"

That's the message it sent to them. You know damn well that Tampa were motivated enough due to their last game against the Leafs. Amplify that ten times over when the coach of the Leafs sends the message that he doesn't care about this game, that he'd rather play a rookie goaltender who can't stop a beach ball rather than to continue allowing Campbell to have time to get momentum, a chance to play against the team he'll be playing in the first round.

It was a wasted opportunity, it's not like Campbell has been playing 12 games in a row. It's been like 2 in over a week.

On top of that, Matthews sits again.

I may be overreacting, but it pisses me off that he played Kallgren instead of sending a better message to Tampa Bay. The only thing he did was motivate them even more. Stupid, stupid move.

I agree we are an awful fanbase but would completely disagree as to why.

This game is very different from the other one we won. This one means the Leafs clinch 2nd. Tampa is OVER for home ice with a loss. Toronto, once again, goes full-on lackluster in a game that had huge implications for them.

Now, you can make excuses as the 8 point lead which will now be 6 will shrink to 4 when Tampa makes up their game-in-hand. Meanwhile, Leafs have Florida, Boston and Washington left...and the Wings. 1-3?

Enjoy all the consternation that is back in play that could've been put to bed. We are awful because we enable things like this time and time again.

I don't know why people are overreacting to this game. The Leafs are resting: Muzzin, Matthews and Campbell and experimenting with line combos. They are clearly prioritizing health over winning.

First of all game is not over. They had a bad period. If they win the third, even make it close I will he happy.

Second, you all were smoking some good stuff if you thought Tampa was ever going to be the best match up for us. Back to back champs, can flip the switch on and off as they please and most importantly, one of the best damn goalies in the league. I never wanted them first round and still don't.

Jesus, some of these takes are crazy.
