There's alot of teams in the league who could scrap their way back into the game after being down. There isn't many that can come back from behind by 3 against Boston and win. The issue here was our measly 1 goal lead was nothing with the brutal 2nd period. A bad 20 minutes cost us the game. It's nice we almost came back to tie it but it's turning into the last few seasons fast here. I think we needed this Christmas break more than any team in the league. Ruff pulling Blackwood shows how he has no faith in the guy. Vanaceck had to make like 5 saves. When your own coach has trust issues with your goalie come back from being out injured for like 2 months and won't even play him for 20 more minutes in a throw away game that shows how bad Blackwoods relationship is with Ruff. Our own coach basically shit on Blackwood. This dude is a lost cause and needs to go.

Lol it wasn’t even that bad. One inexcusable professional goaltender play on the second goal then an inexcusable missed call on a clear trip and this game is even.

Trying not to be negative but with all the injuries, the bad goaltending and defense and the scoring disappearing for long stretches it's becoming more of a real possibility that we are in deep shit here.

Tonight we looked like last years Devils. I recognize this loss.

Blackwood wets the bed and allows 4 goals on 18 shots. We lose our composure in the second period and make a series of huge defensive errors in coverage. Get caved 4 zip in period number 2.

Don’t quit. Come back in the 3d but can’t complete the comeback. Moral victory. Lose the game. Crowd goes home thinking “if only this . . . If only that . . . What a talented club we have . . . If only we had finished another chance or two . . . If only we had eliminated some of those mistakes . . . If only Blackwood had made another save or two.”

This was a game straight out of 2020-2021.
