How popular are non CAN games in Canada? Do you still watch every game like we do in Germany when there is soccer worldcup and even Nigeria vs. Chile would have 10 million viewers?

Definitely not as many people watching as a Canada game but I watch most of them. I haven't seen the numbers released though to actually know what kind of viewership TSN gets for the smaller nations matched up. I would think there will be a pretty sizable audience for the Sweden-Russia game later tonight though.

Yeah, we really need to Bing those TSN viewership stats from previous tournaments. Just kidding, you should Google them.

This year should provide a slightly different set of numbers than usual for a couple reasons: People are hockey starved, and there are no longer games conflicting with the Canadian game start time. No overlap.

Switzerland hasn't been able to score. Germany hasn't been able to get good goaltending.

Will be interesting to see what happens here.

Germany just needs to get to OT to make the quarterfinals. I'm gonna guess it's tied late in the game and Switzerland pulls the goalie to try to win in regulation but fails to score.

This is a fascinating game on paper:

Germany with the best player and best line between the two teams. German 2nd line of Chrobot/Dube/Alberg is as good as anything the Swiss have.

The keys = Can Bugl make the big saves again? He did last game when it mattered.

How will Abstreiter weave the new bodies in? The Germans will have gotten in a groove with shift lengths and ice time ...D have performed admirably, i assume they will put the new forwards on a 4th line...how much will they play? How effective will they be?

For Switzerland - will they use the last change and put a veteran line on Stutzle? I'd be looking at Jobin/ Knak/Marchand...at least two of those three in a shut down role. 2 of Guggenheim, Meier or Fiedler on D.

Can they generate any offense? Swiss have very little talent so they will need to outwork the German 2nd/3rd and 4th lines.,

Fatton has been very solid in goal.

Predicting this would be hard to do..just going to watch.

Should be a fun game with both teams playing for their lives. Germany also gets 3rd with a win. Germany has looked like the better team, is rested while the Swiss played yesterday, and is getting players back. Last years strong German team beating the Czechs and still finishing 5th was sad. After all their covid issues it would be tough to win a game again and still not make it. I'll go 4-1 Germany.

Salzgeber and Knak together does make sense and Knak finally (for the first time) gets somebody to play with but Dähler is a plug. Rest of the lines are a mess, too. If that's the way they wanna play, we lost already. No plan or system behind it

We have last change and the much better goalie...should be an easy win. Use Schläpfer, Marchand and Hofer to shut down Stützle and let Knak, Salzgeber and Jobin do the rest. On defense, let Pezzullo, Meier, Guggenheim and Chanton and Fiedler do the heavy lifting for 25mins each at least. Could be quite easy but our clowns will probably find a way to lose..as they have in previous games

They'll probably continue to isolate our best player (Knak) and they'll continue to play Canonica vs the opponents top lines
