To me he's more benefeciry of time and respect

He's going to have his way if you keep the lane open. Stevens, Pronger, Gauthier, Kronwall, Doughty Kasparaitis would have decked him by now
Nobody goes for the hits anymore.

Someone on the Leafs needs to step up and just hit him center ice. Let him know he's not going to have a freelane
I have yet to see anyone go after him. Too much respect.

Matthews gets cross checked regardless, Tavares gets run over by Kassian. So why play with deterrent mindset? they go after out players, go after theirs. Old school

But we have bunch of pretty boys in our team. There's not a single D in North that is scary. Check out Zadarov or half of Vegas. He wouldn't be pretty against those teams

Yeah, you can't give the special players too much respect. Seems like what you want to do is frustrate McDavid enough that he's not able to wind up the skating, and just give him a rough ride to start the game. Serve notice he'll have to pay a price.

So after the 2nd I was like screw this.

Watching the game didn't help, maybe if I turn it off they'll do better.

Just got my phone and looked up The Score App. Lol

Maybe I should watch games less often.

love to see what your 1A and starter stats would look like.

Fine that you can do that 10 games a season...can he do that over 40+...

We don't know. Let's see him play 40 games first before we name him a starter lol.

Looking at the highlights again, the other team goalies have had incredible luck. I counted 8 instances where you couldn't blame Smith if a goal had been scored but either a post or some stupid ridiculous glove stop. This has been going on for some time where our guys look human and the others could win the lottery between each period.

Wont know until he gets the opportunity will we. He can have 3 bad games and his numbers will still be respectable mix in just a couple of more good games and yeah he could cruise the rest of the year and have great stats.

The better team deserved to win and did

Yes. It would just be nice if they played with the same desperation they always seem to play late in the game. All of a sudden, they drive to the front with reckless abandon and take shots instead of looking to pass first.

They remind me of an old school Hulk Hogan fight. Get beaten up for 15 minutes, start to shake, pump the fist up and down and 30 seconds later you are laying a drop kick on your downed opponent, lol.

They always seem to make it difficult on themselves, instead of having that desperation early.

Umm no he cant, he will need to play above average the rest of the way which he can do.

Mcdavid should pass Sid on the all time best ever list if he stays healthy ... the oilers are a 2 man team, even nugent hopkins has decline a lot

As a purely offensive talent? McDavid is the best since Gretzky/Lemieux.

Crosby is on another level when you talk about overall game though.

Crosby made Kunitz so good that he was on the god damn Olympic team, Bryan Rust, James Neal etc were all players that had amazing years playing with him. He makes no name wingers into amazing players. The ghost of Mark Recchi was an elite player when he played with Crosby/Malkin.

While McDavid racks up points better than anyone else in the game, we haven't seen him do that. Crosby could turn Kassian into a 30-40 goal scorer in his prime.

What a difference it is to have a goalie that makes clutch saves and allows a team to use their offensive talents to make comebacks.

Great game by Galchenyuk, well deserved for his good playing in all his games.

Unimpressed by Dermott and Rielly. Btw, if we’re talking strictly offence, who would you rather have, Barrie or Rielly? Not many would choose Rielly if they’re being objective. Rielly is killing our first Pp.

Purely offence?

Edmonton Barrie > Reilly > Toronto Barrie

Edmonton is now 7-9-1 against playoff teams in this division

We're 11-3-1
