I saw 2 that could of been called on him... an easy trip on Hyman late in the game... but he's mcjesus so doesn't count.

He boarded Hyman the third, but of course he's not going to get a call against because it's under a minute left in the game, McDavid is GOAT and Hyman is a peasant.

Somebody better try and lay out McDavid next game or rough him up. This team is butter soft if nobody responds to their captain getting drilled with a player leaving his feet or even hitting Hyman from behind. Can understand not doing it close to end of regulation this game. But next game is against the same team.

Yup good call this game not to take a penalty. But next game there should be some response.

Weird that Marner gets 26 mins but Tavares and Nylander only get 15.... Maybe it was his effort level on defense... because I didn’t think a lot was happening on offense for him.

Fair enough. I was just stopping by to post that Galchenyuk pass and I saw the thread title and some of the other posts and I thought it was funny.

Any time you can beat McDavid, it's a fun time but yeah like Stephen said, Draisaitl is a bitch though. Sneaky dirty, always cross checking, slashing. I am surprised none of it really gets called.

Anybody know why the 1st line is getting 7 more minutes than the second line? Granted, there is some PP time allocation to consider but the second line was a huge part of the comeback. This has been going on for a while as well. The second line should definitely be up in the 17-18 min range.

Can we all agree that we need another top 6 left wing?

No doubt Gally can get an extended look on that 2nd line, but Simmonds is a bottom 6 player at this point and Thornton shouldn't even be dressing every night, IMO.

If you want Hyman driving the third line, we need to add a legit top 6 LW. We have the space and the resources to do so.

If Simmonds isn't fighting back or hitting, he shouldn't be dressed at all. Yes before injury he was playing well, he was on a good streak

But he was brought in primarily for hitting and defending his team mates. When Tavares got hit, he needed to go have a word, not drop gloves but a word with Kassian

He also needed to hit an Oiler. He did neither. He did have a shfit or two after

Yeah, I don't think having Marner out there so much is necessarily a great thing even if he's playing well defensively. Doesn't have that pop offensively and he's prone to making some weird plays.

Does it seem like that? I think of most us don't really hate him, we just don't want him to do well against us (obviously). If he's not playing the leafs I honestly don't care what he does

I think aside from a few defensive breakdowns, the team played a fine game, we hit 4 posts.
This is how playoff games will be, momentum swings, clutch goaltending and be opportunistic.

Maybe against the Canadian teams sure, but the Leafs should be pretty dominant in the first 2 rounds if they play they way they're capable of. They'll need to step up to beat other top teams like Tampa, Colorado/Vegas, or whoever makes it out of the East (metro) division....

He's not wrong though, I don't think he had a shot on the second goal but that first goal was a bad one to give up, third goal was point blank bang bang but again he had the angle covered but just managed to get by him.

Taylor Hall. Just get it done, I don't care if it takes a first round pick. He's an elite play driver having a shit season but playing on a team where he's the 5th best forward would be a first for him.
