I also miss Marcus Nilson. He is having a great year in Calgary and should have been picked ahead of the likes of Mika Hannula and Samuel PÃ¥hlsson.
Maybe Sutter told him to withdraw. :biglaugh:

I actually like Sweden leaving Nilson off. Marcus Nilson is one of the Flames most important players, and with the beating he takes throughout the season and all the risks he takes blocking shots and such, I'd rather him take the 2 week break then to risk furthur injury in the Olympics.

Thanks you Sweden for leaving him off :yo:

Holmstorm is missing for what?

I was thinking that he would the perfect linemate for the Sedin brothers

I am really liking this swedish roster. If Lundqvist keeps up his play, I see no reason why they can't be in the gold medal game.

nice... look at this scary offense we've got!!!

Hannula-Jönsson-Axelsson (How could any team stop this line from scoring?)
Zetterberg-PÃ¥hlsson-Modin(PÃ¥hlsson whould make these guys score like never before)
Sedin-Sedin-Samuelsson(These guys has been pretty good this season in NHL!!)
Näslund-Forsberg-Alfredsson(Great Checking-line)

Extra: Sundin (how BÃ…G could pick this player over guys like J.Lundqvist, B.Melin, D.Umicevic, A.Karlsson and M.Johansson is beyond me... oh well.)

just as long as Jönsson doesn't get injured we're a serious contender for the gold medal!! :yo:

sorry I am out of jokes now... :)

SWeden will strike out once again, we have noone that can stand up for Peter the great.

3 of the top forwards in the world, with Sundin, Zetterberg, and the sedins on top of that? WOW, they have to get Holmstrom on the team though for grit.

two top 10 dmen, plus norstrom and jonsson.

that team is loaded with talent that's for sure.

Thats just so much BS. Sweden loses because they try to play above their abilities. "Peter the Great", and all the other big shots is part of the problem. The very overrated D corps is another.

Sweden has the best european team imo. Think they have a good chance of a medal, but Gold will get Canada, no other possibilities...

I wouldn't say that. Czech and Sweden have good chances to get the gold IMO. Canada is the biggest favourite, no doubt about that.

Canda has clearly the best roster, but a tournament has to be played first. I know that. But I am pretty sure that Canada will make it again.
The czechs I dont have so strong on my list. Canada, Sweden, USA, Russia have better teams imo

Finally Sweden has some good goaltending again ... I'll have them on the list for a medal!

Four teams - three medals - two games

Participants: Canada, Russia, Czech, Sweden

no particulary order

Well, the Czechs and Swedes have a strong goaltending which separates them from USA and Russia. And I agree with you that Canada has the best roster, even though Sweden's roster isn't bad either.

He´s not a retaliator, nor a dirty player or an enforcer.

The closest we have is Mattias Norstrom, and he´s a cold breeze compared to the toughest players on most other elite teams.

C´mon, even Ruutu would own any Swedish player in a hustle, and thats just sad.

We should´ve called in Fredrik Oduya, hehe..

Some really poor selections. The Jönsson brothers should not be on this squad. Kenny is playing in Allsvenskan, the second highest swedish level. That is like a player from the AHL playing for Team Canada. Due to the lockout that means he hasn´t played against top quality players since 03-04. He is not prepared for the olympics. As simple as that. Niclas Hävelid should have been there instead.
Playwise Kenny has looked better than ever, at least before the concussion. I have never seen a defenseman in a tre kronor jersey being that good at keeping ahold of the puck without making mistakes, at the same time as helping out offensively. He should be there.

I'd say Russia has better goaltending than both Czech and Sweden.

And look for Axelsson to play lots of minutes to get his team going.

Our roster could have been much better. Why the hell is J Jönsson and Hannula taking Holmström, Steen and Nylanders place?

sucks.

 :dunno:

Czechs have Hasek and Vokoun. They have the 2nd best goaltending of the tournament IMO.

In what world do the USA have a better team than the Czechs? I don't think that the Swedes or the Russians do either, but those are at least debatable.

I haven't decided which team I like more - Sweden or Russia. I had Finland in the mix too right up until Kiprusoff bowed out.

Yeah, Steen should be there. Frustrating isn't it? I know what you mean, I think that Canada could have been much better with Spezza, Staal, Crosby and Phaneuf instead of Smyth, Doan, Draper and Foote. Who else could leave 2 of top 10 players in the league as replacements? Only crazy Canadians would.

Hannula is a wrecking ball, don't discount him.

I´m actually okey with Mika, what I dont get is why Jörgen yet again gets a free slot to the best of the best.

Its a damn disgrace.

Ok, I looked closer to the USA-Roster. Really not that imprerssive anymore. Think that you are right that the czechs have a better squad than USA. But the czechs are not that good team than a few years ago. We will have to see, but Canada, Sweden and Russia have better squads than the czechs, for sure!
