Not at all. The U.S. out shot them easily and was the better team as a whole. There were moments when Russia looked better, but just moments. The majority of the time USA looked better, especially in OT when Russia could only get perimeter shots.

Shots were 44-36 with USA having 4 PPs to 1

Similar to Sweden IMO

I think with the pressure we've put on Sweden has rattled them.
The US has a huge advantage where most of their guys were part of the NTDP and there's a familiarity they have with each other. They've admitted that too before someone gets their panties in a bunch.

Man, both these two teams a pretty much garbage and how did anyone think the Swedes were favorite? USA should have an easy time with whoever wins this.

Are you a new U.S. national team fan? Russia and Canada own us in the medal rounds. We could put an NHL team out there against either of them, I would never once consider us the favorite.

We beat Russia, if we go against Canada, it's us taking the underdog tag, and deservedly so.

And USA has a real good team this year, I think Canada would be the underdog.

Well we still have 5 years or more to find the heir apparent with Price and Holtby keeping us going until then

Goaltending as a position requires more development time than most. Just because we don't have outright high end goaltending prospects like Price in Canadian development doesn't mean we won't have top Canadian goaltenders in the NHL. Neither Holtby or Murray have played in the u20s.

I like both Hart and Montembeault as players not in the AHL that could develop into stars at the next level.

I predicted a Sweden win but that was because I was told Hart was not in net. I have changed my call to go with Canada:sarcasm:. We still miss Myers.

And was it not you who said that's what we'd need to do vs the US... somebody said it.

Sweden need to start to lose preliminary round games and win these ****ing semis and finals

It seems your dmen become very hesitant on joining the play during even strength in the offensive zone, making d-d passes and ending up not pinching on pucks that could be kept in so pressure is easily relieved. Not too sure though, I only saw one other Sweden game this year so not much to go on :(.

I don't know. Russia looked pretty good. It was even at best. Quoting shot totals against Russia is never a good measure of play. They always work the puck around (all over the ice) until they have a higher percentage shot.

Yeah I'm starting to feel the same about Raddysh too. Ducharme has him on the bench the entire game until Canada makes a zone entry. I knew his skating wasn't that great but wow it's REALLY sinking in now

If you were around in the 90s, Raddysh reminds me of Ray Sheppard...not as slow as Sheppard, but similar in terms of strengths and weaknesses.
