To get through with an OT win, Sweden need the Czechs to not get more than 1 point against Denmark and Slovakia, while Denmark don't beat the Czech Republic in regulation. So we basically need a regulation win or we are out.

Vůbec nevadí, že za Slovensko hráli pouze v kategoriích U18 a U20. To je přesně to, co Garpenlöv mohl udělat, nemusel se oženit s Lindbergem nebo Rasmussenem. Jedna taková oběť bez hráče NHL, který bych se jako švédský fanoušek obětoval pro budoucnost, není problém. You have to understand that the persons writing here are not representative for Swedes in general.

From my point of view it doesn't really matter. The IIHF WC is fun to watch, but other sports and other events are much more important.

Sure, my family is watching the game this evening. We have been out celebrating Mum on mother's day, and now we are having cake, ice cream and wine. The talk is just as much about the neighbour's cat or the Japanese and Chinese language, though.

As humans we lose next to nothing if Sweden crashes, because that team is not us.

In such a situation we can relax and also appreciate the other team, Slovakia in this case.

I´m wondering what sports are much more important? Probably football, but what else? If there is a sport in which Sweden is excellent, from my point of view it´s surely ice hockey.

I don't think the Slovaks have qualified yet but is 1 point enough? I'm assuming any version of a win and they are in the QFS?

We can still miss if we go clean. Specifically if the Czechs and Slovaks split the points in the last game (assuming Czechs get 3pts vs Denmark).

For Slovakia 1 point is enough, because then Sweden can't pass them.

Sweden can get max 12 points, which Slovakia already has. Sweden has to win both of their games in regular time and eben if they do, if Slovakia gets at least a point against Czechs, the Swedes are out.

That's assuming Czechs get past Danes. Not a guarantee at all. Danes play a nice structured game.

Still lots of hockey for the Swedes. I"m very happy for the Slovaks though. Such a nice tourney with so many young guys!

Yes, interest in the CL final yesterday was much higher among persons I talk to.

And also interest in the upcoming EC.

Since Sweden is so spread out over the latitudes, hockey is something of a niche sport in areas of the south.

This doesn't mean that we here, watching where I am now, does not want Sweden to score, but if Sweden loses, it is not a big problem.
