GDT: Sweden – Slovakia

I get why you don't want to give teenagers a lot of minutes because of the lack of experience and potential defensive miscue... but everytime I see Slaf he is creating offence.

Exactly 2 good scoring chances for him there , skalicky on the other hand has hands of stone and is a black hole on offense.

Hoping for a Russian off-night. Maybe having some trouble with chemistry when Orlov and Taranseko inserted into the line-up. Otherwise I agree, Russia is the better team, but the better team does not always win.

I still think they are all even. I'm actually not a fan of bringing in guys this late in a tournament. I don't think it pays off often. I know all the players coming are superstars but they haven't been on the big ice.. now regulars are going to lose their ice time... it's a lot of shuffling to do before an elimination game.
 
Haha, the commentators think Sweden should take a timeout. That would constitute coaching, Sweden coaches don't do that. They throw the lineup in a random generator before the first game and then they stick with it and spend the rest of the tournament chewing gum on the bench

I don't even know why I continue watching this clown team trying to perform better since 1937. Loyalty? Wanting to watch a miracle? Pure loyalty? Being unable to look away from an incoming train crash? I don't know. I could do so many better things this evening than watching this.

When you have Pudas and Pilut as the hopes on the blueline to change the game... holy hell.
 
For the love of God, switch lines for Sörensen and Rakell. Then we could have our two best offensive player (Kempe and Rakell) on the same line and Lindberg - Lindholm can go back to being the shutdown line they were intended to be

You cannot ask of Garpenlöv to become a competent coach all of a sudden. As a positive, this will probably force the Swedish hockey generation to stop acting like morons slightly less in the future.

The only Sweden hope is to beat both Slovakia and Russia and hope, Czech beats Slovakia as well. In that case Russia doesn't even need to win over Sweden, we'll beat Belarus and win the 1st. On the other hand there is a chance, that Canada wins that 4th place in the other group. Pretty slim chance, but still.

This year? This is Sweden this year:

I wouldn't say an apocalypse. More like a really, really bad joke. Luckily for us there are no elimination games this year. We could lose against anyone. I mean, maybe, MAYBE we could squeeze a win against Slovakia that we won't deserve. But we will be crushed against Russia and we will absolutely 100% be eliminated in the QF. But the team won't reach that, so.... worst performance since 1937.

The coach is an utter clown, the organization are clowns, the roster is utter crap and to put some sprinkles on the ice cream, all our best players that actually carried some quality were all injured. But yeah, our captain is a "star player" in the Swiss league.

I still think Canada finishes 4th in the group and will be a nightmare for first in our group. We might actually get a Canada vs Russia quarter!
 
Cehlarik having a great tourney! That is a poor quality goal or really bad luck. Sweet move to keep it in the zone. Last minute goals suck. Slovakia is 4 and 0 when scoring the first goal I believe?

Hahah Swedens worst team in history. The sad thing is that all the games swedes lost has been their own fault not that the oppostite team has been good. Sad to see a great hockey nation be so bad. slovaks taking advantage of this
