Už před dnešním zápasem jsem si myslel, že švédský tým se vzdal postupu a Slovensku nechal jeden bod, možná dva.
Zatím je to přesně tak, jak jsem očekával. Slovensko s dobrým pohybem, opravdu agresivní, vyhrává boje u mantinelu a pokud bude mít příležitost střílet z nepříznivé pozice, udělá to. Přesně tak dali první gól, na první chvíli hloupou střelu, ale ta skončila v síti.


S trenérem, jako je Garpenlöv, existuje minimální naděje na obrat. Nevěřím, že Švédsko předvede hokej proti Švýcarsku. Ale Slovensko nesmí dělat hloupé fauly.
Huska je dobrá první třetina, obrana mu hodně pomáhá a dobře funguje kolem vlastní brány.

I still think Canada finishes 4th in the group and will be a nightmare for first in our group. We might actually get a Canada vs Russia quarter!

Canada must beat Finns, but it's not enough. They need Germany loses 4 points to USA and Latvia or Kazakhstan loses 1 point to Norway. Not sure chances for this are great. Not even sure, they are decent.

You have to understand that the persons writing here are not representative for Swedes in general.

From my point of view it doesn't really matter. The IIHF WC is fun to watch, but other sports and other events are much more important.

Sure, my family is watching the game this evening. We have been out celebrating Mum on mother's day, and now we are having cake, ice cream and wine. The talk is just as much about the neighbour's cat or the Japanese and Chinese language, though.

As humans we lose next to nothing if Sweden crashes, because that team is not us.

In such a situation we can relax and also appreciate the other team, Slovakia in this case.

We have a head coach with zero experience, that is the root cause. The player selection is off, the team cohesion is off, tactics are non-existent.

This is something new.. i mean the Swedes has been bad in tournaments before but just for one or two games and later win gold or at least medal. This is different. They might win tonight but they suck any way. Its too slow on attack and two messy in their own zone.

1) None of the NHL players wanted to play because of Covid where they were treated like isolated product cattle between games by the NHL. Even if they were physically fine, they were mentally spent. Basically all of them.
2) Playing in Belarus/ the Baltic states is not an easy thing to help adding any incentive to join the team for rich professionals. Add to that no audience and no fans. Zero incentive.
2) Our hockey organization is filled with idiots.
3) The idiot organization hired their whiskey buddy as a coach with basically no coaching experience.
4) The "coach" created perhaps the worst shit team you can imagine from the material he had. Any positives he had he eliminated. Abysmal player choices.
5) The shit team plays like shit with a shit coach. What a surprise!
6) Any quality players actually creating winning hockey were injured. Without especially Lundkvist this team is pure garbage. NHL snipers (Rakell, Olofsson) are useless without a team giving them shooting opportunities and Lundeström is crap as a center.
7) Mediocre goaltending, abysmal blueline, mediocre forwards in a system relying on quality defensemen more so than other nations. Game over.
