How have we gone from "Lindholm is back skating in a regular jersey and will probably be ready to go after the break" to "He's likely done for the rest of the year" in the matter of a week? Seems to me that there was never any hope of him coming back in the first place and we just got strung along lol
Same, same - only Vegas style.I wonder what his prognosis would be if they were the 1 seed right now?
I was GM,I would try as hard as I could to move Hampus when he gets back and shows he can play again. That knee will only get worse as time goes by and the miles get added to it.,,,,,,,,,,,...Just looked ,,,He has a nmc next season forget it ..lol Sweeney gives everyone control.Bad news about Hampus ......darn Knee must be hairline fracturing or swelling or God knows what....I agree with McBrom and others put both d on Ltir and do what you can to rebuild.
Unfortunately, that is probably the right thing to do. Hampus' game depends on his agility......this bodes very badly for it and him.I was GM,I would try as hard as I could to move Hampus when he gets back and shows he can play again. That knee will only get worse as time goes by and the miles get added to it.He has a nmc next season forget it ..lol Sweeney gives everyone control.
Well he has a full no trade next season and limited no trade rest the way after that.Least they will have time to evaluate himUnfortunately, that is probably the right thing to do. Hampus' game depends on his agility......this bodes very badly for it and him.
Both top D on LTIR and now you’re really ready to facilitate and take on contracts for other teams that are in the hunt and trying to add while shedding contracts
I was wondering the same thing and just went looking. Didn’t see anything yet. I’m sure Dom or the folks who run the bruins cap space twitter will have some figures as we get closer to the TDL.Any idea what the deadline cap space becomes if those two go on LTIR?
Does "he" have a name?I don’t think there’s a coach in the world who can improve his puck skills at this stage if his career.
He’s absolutely useless, nay, detrimental to the team with the puck on his stick.
A young player named Clark Kent and we’ll be cooking with gas.So with Hampus out Sweeney could LTIR him and add a good player at the trade deadline assuming one is available. A young player with term on his contract.
If that is possible, good ideaWith Hampus shut down, it would be really interesting to see if they could potentially 'weaponize' their cap space for the remainder of the year.
Put Hampus and McAvoy on LTIR and then taking expiring bad contracts on for draft pick compensation. Who that would be I'm not sure. Definitely an avenue I would explore though.
This is a golden ticket to tank for one year then come back next year with hopefully a great prospect.
Does "he" have a name?
Call me late to the party...
The tickets are already sold with season tickets. The public sales will be fine regardless for the rest of this season. He needs to concerned about next season with renewals all ready outPretty clear Sweeney is playing an attendance game. Trying to keep ticket sales as high as possible for the rest of the year by not sounding alarmist despite the writing on the wall. He uses vague language to disguise plans that harm someone from buying seats for the next 24 games in the next 2 weeks.
I see them moving on from some obvious players but bringing people back in return (three team deals with bad expiring contracts maybe) simply to staff the roster through the end of the season.

This is Sweeney for “We want Brad here but just like moved on from our captain in Chara, we will trade Brad if I don’t hear different numbers from the last discussion.”
Doesn’t mean they cant’t/ won’t re-convene in the summer or even plan to do that so buyers are on the hook.
Expiring is key. If he takes on any. Or retain on his own expiring contracts.Reminder: the last contract Sweeney "took on" was Korpisalo's.
Buyer beware.
