The more I read about Reinbacher the more I like the pick. Initially I wasn't happy with the pick. Folks who take to getting vile need to get a damn grip. Finally we have an organization not floating aimlessly without a rudder. Alot to be excited about.

It's far too early to tell how this draft will turn out. The sexy picks don't always work out. I truly don't care who they have on the team, as long as they win.

I said as much. I said we are not done rebuilding, we are not done developing. We are done putting ourselves is the best possible position to fail. AKA, Tanking.

We have a bunch of youngsters, rookies coming up, a bunch of deadwood, no clear starting goalie and some vets we will sell at the deadline.

We are not exactly out of the tanking mode yet. But we are further along than we were two years ago.

Let's be patient. We are not done drafting great players.

Listen I don't think we're in disagreement here. I am just struggling with your terminology of tanking. I have a different take on the word. It's all good.

Anyone hating on Reinbacher personally deserves mental treatment, however, you may hate on management for being absolute morons and fully open about getting a 2nd pairing Dmen fifth overall in a year where 2 elite forwards were available.

There's very low doubt that 5 years from now when this team is let me, this pick will be very instrumental in their firing

This draft has really killed my interest in this organization, tbh, it's been at an all time low and the hype this year of getting some top talent brought it back but damn, they shut it to an all time low

And even then...I'm convinced we'll have the assets to trade for something better than Dubois in the next few seasons. Our building doesn't have to come 100% out of the draft. But so far, it is a good start.

No we're not, I completely agree with you with where we are in the process. I disagree in thinking we're still in "tanking" mode We could certainly end up with a high pick regardless, I'm not saying that's not a possibility. Just that it won't be our aim.

While it reminds me a lot of that young 93 defense Desjardins -23, Schneider-23, Brisebois-21, Haller-21, Daigneault 26 and Lyle (Wifi) Odelein -24, I think the current crop has the possibility of being a lot better.

This team has a lot of the pieces already, the assets to add by trade to round things out as they become competitive.

That D will be key, a mix of big physical and offensive flair. They can all skate.

This team is well on its way to being a contender for a lot of years

I ain't got the patience personally, and for Hughes to say it himself that they went for need and see the limited upside there was the final nail in the coffin. I've personally been completely hostile to the idea of them drafting Reinbacher at 5, i cannot control what they do, obviously, however, I sure can give up.

The defence is set for the next decade. That is a huge part of the rebuild. Reinbacher, Hutson, and a Guhle look like they have genuinely elite upside and guys like Engstrom, Xhekaj, Harris, Barron, and Mailloux appear to have NHL potential and top-4 upside. This is the kind of base that successful teams grow from.
