genuinely curious about this, can any of the new Barca signings be registered or do they still require further sales/wage budget reduction before?

@Evilo How would you rank the CBs Chelsea has been linked to this window? Seems like we are interested in every french CB?

Kounde, Kimpembe, Fofana, Simakan, Badiashile, Upa, Ndicka, Mukiele (RCB).

Obviously, two of those are out of the question with Mukiele at PSG and Kounde on the verge of Barcelona, but still curious.

Very different in terms of current level and potential.
Current level :
Kimpembe
Fofana
Kounde
Ndicka
Upa
Simakan
Badiashile
Mukiele is different since he is asked to play RB.

On potential :
Fofana
Upa
Simakan
Kimpembe
Kounde
Badiashile
Ndicka
That said I don't think Upa reaches his potentialnfor instance. Also Simakan is very adaptable to different positions so to me it'd a huge plus.

Fofana would be my top choice of that group. By a lot.
Same

We apparently had him at the top of the list a year ago, I don’t know why he fell on our list this year. He looked fine after the injury.

Only can claim to have seen Kimpembe and Kounde of the other ones and yeah, I would take Fofana

Especially since he’s played in the league

Saw the Dybala presentation today and it reminded of how when I played a Roma save on FM before the player ever joined Juventus I would sign him for Roma.

Yeah I signed him for United as a backup striker in fifa and scored like 8 goals in a game with him once and he was written into the history books for me.

Great observation
I mean, I don’t think a lot of people would argue with that. Would you care to back up why you are against the grain here?

There is some weird stuff going on at Leicester right now it seems. don’t think they’ve had any incomings or outgoings. I do know Fofana signed an extension this calendar year so maybe he feels loyal post injury or something? Not that it would matter to Chelsea necessarily but Leicester also would probably ask for similar to they got for Maguire if not more. Might be prohibitive. Leicester don’t need the money.

Was reading some Chelsea journalists saying Leicester do have to sell someone.

Fofana previously has indicated he would like to play for Chelsea and we have a good relationship with them

They were willing to spend a huge fee on De Ligt so..

Sure could happen. I also though I saw that they might sell Schmeichel. That would be something. Newcastle is sniffing around Harvey Barnes too. Would sell both of those before Fofana. Honestly I wouldn’t sell Fofana unless he put in an aggressive transfer request if I was Leiceste. He is too good and he is locked in. might be a 100m transfer if he has a monster season post injury with his age and how scarce CB is. Not trying to break your chops. I would just say to Chelsea what Dortmund is telling teams about Jude

I would say the same.

1. He looked fine post-injury and will be even better this upcoming season.
2. He has an extension now which ups his price significantly.
3. Would be selling within the same league and they have already received the highest figure ever for a CB in similar context.
4. We are absolutely desperate.

What a HUGE upgrade he would be on Christensen though.

I still think the underdiscussed potential exit from Chelsea is Kante. Tuchel has said for months that he doesn't want to repeat losing guys as free agents.

Hard to let your captain in Jorginho leave when you're losing Azpi, and he also hasn't indicated any immediate desire to leave. Also, Kante's wages are huge given his injury prone-ness.

Also, he's unvaccinated.
