This is from your first reply which is what I had responded to.

"The opposition Pickard has faced has a collective record of 28-31-6 and averages about 2.75 goals for per game and only one team out of the 6 starts is amongst the current top 25 teams in in the league, and frankly he looked terrible in that games along with the team's offense."

I was confused by what you meant by that. Sorry about the confusion. For some reason I was reading that as career starts. Misread. Nevermind.
All good.

Maybe McDavid doesn't score just so he can get his point #1000 vs the Leafs in Toronto

Or maybe he just wants to win

I’m wondering as well. They should just let Mcdavid and Drai loose on the Preds.

Drai - McD - Pod
Skinner - RNH - Hyman
Janmark - Henrique - Brown
Ryan - Perry
I have time for this, alot of time. I wonder how McDrai would do with all the space that Podkolzin creates.

Can't wait for 1000 McPoints.

Edit: They should try Dermott at wing, honestly, I think he's got the instincts for it.

Podz can't get a better chance than this to show he can still be a Top 6 Player.

I don't think he'll be that, but if he doesn't I hope he accepts a Bottom 6 role unlike that whiner Pool.

We need the win!! And focus on only that
.mcdavid will get his point this or next game in Toronto. It's media and fans who make a big deal about it. I only care about the win and if players focus any part of their game to anything but a win then we lose

Yes he just wants to win and any focus put towards another point by him or team then we lose.

I could see McDavid pushing extra hard for at least a point just avoid the media attention on #1000 in Toronto.

So look for a McDavid point in the first few minutes of the game lol

McDavid is about to get 1000 pts in like 654 games, and that's truly amazing, then you remember Gretzky is beyond amazing.

Gretzky from the Oilers nation article on 1000 pts scorers.
Overall, he compiled 696 games with the Oilers, scoring 583 goals and 1,669 points.
He reached the millennium mark on Dec. 19, 1984, and became the 18th player to reach the mark. Gretzky was also the fastest player (424 games) to ever reach the mark while McDavid will be the fourth-fastest player to reach it.

Jeff Skinner hat trick incoming.

You heard it here first! (Again)
Skinner was a gamble worth taking. Only 2 seasons ago he had 35 with the Sabres and started out pretty hot last year, but unless something drastically changes, he looks shot. He's 32, going to be 33 by the playoffs, sometimes guys just lose it quickly at that age.

In his last 12 games for the Sabres last year, he ended the season with zero goals and 1 assist in 12 games.

He hit the wall in late January last year. Since then combined this year with that time in Buffalo, he has 9 goals and 7 assists combined over his last 52 games, including PP time with Buffalo.

Maybe he gets hot for a stretch? If he did put up a hat trick it wouldn't shock me, but I think his effective NHL career is coming to an end quickly.

I think Pod brings a lot of elements that would compliment the McDrai pairing well as long as he’s not expected to score at a top line pace on top of it. He can be the defensive conscious, he’s got that heavy, disrupting forecheck, he turns pucks over, he back checks hard. He does a lot of things that will allow them to play the way they want but he can’t do all that and be a top tier scorer.

It's nice to play the preds early in the season when the team is still trying to 'find themselves' and give us some free(ish) points. Shame we don't play them 5x a year though.

Hopefully (and I'm sure he will) Connor gets his 1000th point tonight as we don't need that distraction on Saturday (remember the 'can Hyman get his 50th goal against the leafs' narrative from last season?).

Going with OPs prediction, 6-2 Oilers tonight. Drai with 4pts and McDavid with 3 and keep streaking.

Imo we still don't look as good as we should. We need better consistency on defense and better goaltending.

The record isn't bad but we should be near the top, not fighting for a wild card

Any distraction to the game always screws up oilers. Let's see how mature they are tonight because we need these points before we head out on the road
