Rennes will likely accept Bayern's latest offer for Mathys Tel : 30M€+resell %.
They're already trying to sign a promising striker to replace him (probably belgian Norman Bassette of Caen).

Even if Tel has all the talent in the world i dont think he will play anything for Bayern..he is only 17. its better he stays at Rennes, where he actually will get the chance to play.

So Mcity ships OZ for 30m and they throw that 30m at cucurella... what's he worth if they turn down 30m.
Or they want to keep their better players or they just making city pay more cause they city?

Arsenal have spent more money than any other English club this summer with the Zinchenko signing. Time to really perform now Mikel. No excuses. The biggest spenders in the league for two seasons running should not just be aiming for 4th place, it’s embarrasing.

No top 4 and he should obviously go finally. Pressure has to be on now that he has a team full of his own expensive signings. A caveat I would accept is that we've gone high-fee low wage, but if it doesn't mean your team is then better... then why?

I like the Zinchenko signing though, for sure. Raises the technical level of the team even more.

Both. Cucurella is one of our best players and we have no real reason to sell him this summer. Brighton will wait for a 50 million offer or hold on to him. Same thing they did with Ben White.

They have spent like a top team spends the last 2 seasons, so there really is no excuse.

This may seem stupid but, why would they want to sell (one of) their best players to the already good champions?
Do they have to meet a certain income or wouldn't they rather try to win?
Or... his contract near up? He want out?

I'm guessing he's also going to see more playing time on Arsenal.
From what little I saw of him the past season (and nations league) the guy can really make things happen.
It's amazing he got so little time on man city.
Good on defense... good on moving the ball... good on play-making... the guy can be slotted anywhere.
And his quote on (loosely) 'if you want me to be a goalkeeper - I'll be ready' is pretty much true... the guy can play anywhere...

They don't want to sell. When a City comes calling though it gets the players attention and it becomes hard for aclub f Brightons stature to keep them happy.

If they do sell Cucurella it would be unfortunate, he is tough to replace. That beins said Brighton would have profited 30 million on him in a year and would have plenty of resources to reinvest in the next Cucurella. With their recruitment and track record for development, I'm not too overly worried.

I accept that. Big changes would be coming (for the guy) if that were to happen.
Allows the next guy to get their chance. Yes, could be exciting both ways.

I just couldn't get why you'd sell the best team your best and still expect to compete with them. Not like they are in the top 4... I just mean... on a competitive level. But yeah, makes sense in ways.

He’s actually quoting Veth who is quoting Nagelsmann which is arguably worse

Competing with City or anyone in the top 4 is not really a priority. Obviously, you want to be competitive and give yourself a chance for a result when you play big 6 teams, but being competitive with them long-term isn't really an option.

City signs at least one fullback, starter or not, for 40-50 million every summer. Don’t see why this will be any different.

I mean if you are Cucurella, you can’t really say no to Man City to stay at Brighton. Can’t turn down a team like that. Brighton can “win” in this too because they get a large transfer fee that they can reinvest but it also helps their reputation as a team that if you succeed on, will help you get to the next step. Not like Brighton would get relegated without Cucerella either. Teams in that lower middle part of the table can help themselves out but having good management (Potter is great) and being known as player friendly. But being player friendly means you are going to lose guys to the big boys.

It's different because I like this fullback ;)
He’s definitely good but we know what happens in these situations. The “good?” News is that generally Brighton is good at re-investing here and left back is surprising deeper than it used to be. Did you see some Serie A team trying to sign Maupay. Any thoughts on that?

Tierney is missing 15 games at least as always so Zinchenko will get his LB minutes. He’s a good fit for the left CM role in the 433 we played to end the season too and that’s probably where he ideally plays the most. Tenacious and great techincally. Probably wouldn’t use a Ødegaard- Partey - Zinchenko midfield against the biggest teams but it does seem good on paper for ceirtain games. I still like Xhaka though and I like that there will be heavy competition is midfield with ESR, Sambi and Fabio Vieira all being options as a 10, 6 or 8.

Arsenal can line up in so many different ways with the depth we are adding. Last season we all knew the strongest 11, basically. The only debatable one was Martinelli or Smith Rowe on the left. This season you can’t say that.
