I am not pleased......Somebody say Springfield, or Ware, or even the Berkshires! People. Grumble.

The bigger question… are the berkshires part of what is culturally considered western MA? My take is
No! I grew up in Ludlow and our TV and Newspapers never mentioned the berkshires. Come to find out they get their news from Albany! Let New York take them.

The other question is those poor towns in western Worcester county (warren, new Braintree, oak ham, hardwick) they seem to be in no mans land.

One of the things I took for granted living there was (aside from party pizzas) was that the TV news was very local. In eastern ma it’s a huge expanse of towns and in VT you have to hear about western NY half the time!

My take is yes geographically yes, linguistically, yes, though we do have a barely noticeable flat New York short a in our accent. The movers and shakers in news and politics have made an effort to make the same distinction you do. I have no idea why, except the tourist industry wants it that way.
We are neither snobs nor hicks. The news is from Albany with Springfield and Berkshire "bureaus", which is a pain in the neck. Sports is also based on Ny markets, so on rare occasions the Bruins or Sox are unavailable on TV. The news is very local. Interesting to hear about the towns in no man's land, I had not heard that before but there are similar towns on both sides of the CT border.

So after 4 years my girl and I are finally finally done. Have posted this before but this time yeah its done.

Shes 2000 miles away, we keep getting into these patterns and im about to be 37. Still young to some of u but to me im getting old and its time to shit or get off the pot and she doesnt seem to have my back 100% like I got hers

Wasnt there when I had an emotional break down recently or when my dog dies but wants me to be there for her whenever she needs me 24/7.

Same week lost my dog and girl. Currently hurting but the future looks brighter. Have job orientation new job Monday.
Put the past behind you. It seems like that relationship was never going to work for you.

Keep your head up and do what is right for you.

Good Luck. I hope things get better for you.

Well put, and yes, I am from Western MA.
My sister lives in Williamstown. She is a couple of miles from Vermont and a couple from New York.

Yes. She restored paintings for a living. She is now retired but has an art studio in her back yard. She worked with the Clark Art Institute as well as museums and private art collections.

I have no talent in the arts. I haven't figured out what my talent is yet

This was her at work a few years ago. This was her job. She also draws and paints her own stuff.

Sometimes when it feels like things are falling apart, they are actually falling together. I'm so sorry you've had so much in a short time.

Be gentle with your struggle, friend.

Ya AccuWeather has Fiona currently making landfall as a cat-2 hurricane
Bay Ferries, who operates between Bar Harbor and Yarmouth, NS has suspended operations temporarily.... also TD 9 (Soon to be Hermine) is looking directly at Florida as of 11 AM except for the Panhandle at this point, and is on pace to either strike Florida and NC by midweek

I'm in pre disaster protocols now so we can remain in contact with out FL based employees in the event the storm ends up hitting as a Cat 2 as projected

Yeah TD-9 is sketchy. I have a lot of family in Northport Fla, and was just talking to my old school friends' mom on fb but she says she isn't concerned. Ugh idk.

I really don't see Fiona making much of an impact on Maine though
Eastern Maine is closer to the track than the rest of us here it's just polar chill today once the front passed yesterday(54 currently) something we would typically get the 1st week of October, not this early in September.... but I did see this: Mt. Washington was ambient 34 yesterday wind chill 18.

I know where Maine is geographically but probably just some waves and rip tides.
