Elephant in the room but Walton needs to show a way more energy today. Specially in Defensive zone. He’s gotten a pass for his offence but last few weeks he has played a uninspired one way game..
Much better game yesterday from Big Walt. More energy and more engaged in the DZone…offence will always be there but must be defensively sound to jump to pros.

What are the expectations this weekend? Probably the toughest road trip of the year considering the teams they're playing and the fact that these teams have had a weekend and week of practices to gel after the trade deadline/WJC.

Windsor on Thursday -> 9-1 in their last 10 -> 2nd overall in the OHL
Sarnia on Friday -> 7-3 in their last 10 --> 14th overall in the OHL
London on Sunday -> 8-0-1-0 in their last 10 -> 1st overall in the OHL

Can't take any of these teams lightly considering they're all playing good hockey in their last 10. Staying out of the box will be key as London and Windsor are 1/4 on the PP. Sarnia is last. Sudbury is good on the PP as well, but Windsor and London are top 4 in penalty killing%. Sudbury slipped to 7th.

Can go all day talking about the other teams but Sudbury will need to play their best hockey of the season. Thankfully they get Saturday off before taking on London on Sunday.

Are we expecting any injured players to return?

So possible line combos your thoughts:
Pharand Delic Walton
Musty Viileneauve Molnar (Zillioto)
Couglin Chitironi Zilliotto (Molnar)
Clayton Henderson Di Giantommasso
Street Dean Brehmer

McCoy DeAngels
Mews Robert's
O'Dell Ewels (Blonda)
Bruce

After last game I don't think you can touch the villy line, also don't know what Zillioto will brings likely 3rd. Can't take Dean or Street out for Digi in my opinion.

If Zillioto is in the line up i can see running a 6man d and not the 7 from last 2. O'dell and Bruce odd men out

Stay out of the box. Give yourself a chance to win

That London game will be a dandy- hoping.

I think the wolves will eventually settle on Walton, Musty, Molnar on LW and Pharrand, Ziliotto, Coughlan on RW.

So with another trade deadline come and gone, how did our GM do?
Some want to run him out of town, while others like his work.
Is this deadline better than last years?
What did you like or dislike?
Let’s hear your thoughts…

Best trade deadline Papineau has had with the Wolves by far IMO. He did well. Way better than last years. Last year the McCoy trade was great. The Van Vliet deal was embarrassing with including Protz in the deal, and the Giroux deal wasn't great either with the fact we had to subtract Toure from the team to make room for Giroux as an OA.

This team right now has a good feel about it. Adding an elite talent like Mews was massive. And getting a motivated Musty back is absolutely huge. Musty just eats apart defences in this league. He's good enough to be playing in the AHL right now like Dali. So Wolves are lucky to have him.

Wolves offense looks lethal now, got the goaltending with Krawchuk to keep them in games, and I think the D core will round into form.

Good vibes with this team, keep on building and working as a team heading into the playoffs. Wolves aren't a team to be taken lightly IMO. Looking forward to seeing the Wolves play Brampton, Barrie, Oshawa to see how we stack up.

It was fine imo. If you’re into conservative buys to be a competitive playoff team without jeapordizing the future, it was excellent.
I would have taken that Flint-OS trade in a heartbeat. In that scenario, the wolves could have had McCue and (Nordh or a couple of good picks to put towards the final piece) for Blonda.

Not moving Bonda was a no brainer, thank God he realized that. Overall you have to give him a pass. I would have liked to see him make a deal for Bowen to share the net with Chucky. Did he do enough to keep his job? I think it will come down to who else is available.

That is your opinion. Blonda might turn out closer to Mews than Schaefer. I would give up a potentially very good player 1.5 years from now for a real shot at a championship now.

I also thought of the Clayton, Henderson, Coughlan as a checking energy line, but the key is going to be what we actually have in Zillioto and where we play him rw/c.
