Mixing the 1st line good idea. Good luck convincing one of them to move down(Goyette).
Probably a selling component for Dvorksy to come over and play with the two

What they might do is wait till they add and convince one of them they'll be playing with equal talent on the 2nd line

I'd think one of them would be itching to go to the 2nd line. There's flat-out not enough puck to go around on the ice with the three of them on one line 5 on 5

I wonder if Colby Barlow becomes available at some point
If he does it’ll be right around WJC which I’m sure he will be at.

I highly doubt they’ll trade him though they have a competitive team and just got a new good coach and they’ve done well since the change. I see them adding on defence and then they’re set. Good forward group, 2 pretty good goalies, alright defence.

Thought the Wolves generated a lot of chances off the cycle in the first vs the Ice Dogs. Would love to see them attack the offensive zone wide with speed more. Wouldn't be at all disappointed to see them break up the top line and see if that can generate consistent offensive attack depth in their lines. Might be hard to line match. Not enough puck for Musty Goyette and Dvorsky to share. They all like to drive the play. How's this for lines?
Musty Dvorsky Pharand/McCallum
Delic Goyette Konyen
Walton Villy Pharand/McCallum
Taylor Yearwood Larmand Coughlan
Might be worth a shot to mix things up. Be nice to get Pharand going.

Agree, strongly doubt he’s going anywhere.

You are correct, they are not in last place. Where they are in the standings is just from pure talent, and without leadership.
just my opinion. we all like picking on the top line. with all that talent on the top line, why are the only options for our defensemen have when they have the puck behind our net is to try and skate through the whole team or to try and make a hell Mary pass through 3-4 guy because our three forwards are sitting at the opposition blueline waiting for a pass.
I said it before, a team has leader and followers. when the others see the way the top line playing, and gets away with it. why not do the same.
The way this team is playing right now, I know it early. Without leadership from the older players and coaches. they will not go far into the playoffs.
Again... Just my opinion. hope they prove me wrong.
Are you watching the Sudbury Wolves? Our Forwards are not "sitting at the opposition Blueline" The reason we limit opposition shots is because our Forward group is coming back quite well. The only time we are waiting at the opposition Blueline in on a that silly drop pass Powerplay entry (you know...the same one we've been trying for the past seemingly 20+ seasons)...Anyways my entire point is that your analysis is BS.

maybe I didn't explain myself properly. I was only talking about the 1st line... no problem with the other three lines. watch the 1st line when the puck is in our end. Once our defense has the puck behind our net. all three forward break toward the other blue line. like I said... just my opinion...

nhl teams pay teams (more like leagues) when they draft a kid. its almost like a release fee.
I was told the money is split between every hockey program the kid played for in minor hockey from tyke to Junior. Believe the total amount to be 20k

i dont believe that to be the case, ohl teams already pay fees to u16 teams regardless of nhl draft status, usually $1500 i think. i volunteered for my local rep group here in windsor a while ago and i dont think we ever say a dime of nhl money.

I'm sure we can all agree on one thing, Toure and Mania can't return soon enough. Protz has been a huge surprise with how well he's played, but the 0:05 of ice time they give O'Dell, and the constant giveaways(one yesterday leading directly to a goal) from Pryce leave us playing with 4 ohl caliber d-men right now
Any reason why Jackson isn't playing, he is a second rounder, the experience would do him good during injuries and is more reliable than O'Dell or Bruce, just curious

OHL, WHL and QMJHL teams pay a player development fee to the players association when drafted. The total compensation is based on the amount of time a player spent in that association. Say the player played in the same association from Novice to Midget, the entire amount would go to that association. If they spent 4 years in 1 association, but moved to another for 5, the amount is split accordingly.

NHL teams do not pay a players minor association. They pay to the CHL.

Sweden for example also has a development fee that is paid by the NHL. You can fins articles that say when Rasmus Dahlin was drafted by the Sabres, they paid $250,000.

"When Rasmus Dahlin put pen to paper on his first NHL contract, the reverberations carried to Gothenburg and Lidkoping in his native Sweden.

The No. 1 overall pick signing with the Buffalo Sabres earned Sweden more than $250,000 to put back into development.

''It's unreal,'' Dahlin said. ''We need all the money we can get.''

Jackson can only play in 10 games the same as Bruce as they are affiliate players. The Wolves will want Jackson to play meaningful minutes to develop and get stronger. They would rather call him later into the season on an emergency basis. In the meantime Bruce, O'Dell and now Horgan will be the fillers until Mania and Toure are back.

what is the timeframe for Mania anyone?
That’s a great question, if I had to guess I’d say it was soon, I was watching one of the mic’ed up episodes recently and saw him on the ice practicing with a red non contact jersey on.

Doesn’t provide a real answer for you, sadly.

Most recent video had him in a normal jersey in the second half, so I would hope he'd be back soon. Would be a big boost to our struggling PP.
