Did a Memo go out around the OHL to call mouth guard penalties?

Just a quick check and not even half way through the night there's over 10 called league wide.

Odd.

good 40 minutes, last 20 minutes not so good. Too many opportunities to put this team away was missed, let them to stay in the game.
Agreed! However I saw what they could be tonight, and that is very exciting, let Coach put his system fully in place, and see what happens.

On to Kingston!

Go Wolves Go!!

Don't think the wolves were actively bad tonight, but thought Barrie just outworked the Wolves. Thought the wolves kind of got bullied and did not show much pushback.

While it did not work, I liked the lines they threw out for the PP, Chromiak in particular had a pretty great game. Toure and Anania steady as usual.

On the other side of the defensive coin, I thought Holmes was an absolute trainwreck.

On to Sunday, hopefully, another game or two, and they can start things going again with the coaching change.

Looked liked the old wolves tonight

Mistakes, missed coverages all over the ice

How many coaches do they neeed behind the bench

Can someone tell me if they've ever seen Musty lay a hit or win a puck battle

Pharhand cant keep up in a fast pace game

I'm not fond of Konyen on that 1st line. Bring back Delic

Papineau needs another scorer sooner than later

Ranger at times, takes himself out of the play after a shot. Needs to be more controlled (overplays)

Wolves looked a little tired in the 3rd

Onto the next

Agreed on Ranger. Stay calm and staying in the middle of the net on the first goal that was just thrown at the net from Punnett would of stopped it. The winning goal was just an awful one. No need to be swimming all over the ice.

Defence was very weak at certain times. You can't allow Barrie that kind of space up the middle of the ice. They will make you pay and that they did tonight.

I don't know what Bishop was doing on the ice late in the game. It was a very simple pass from Konyen to the point and he gaffed. Barrie made him pay for that. Holmes was also burned by his indecisiveness. I wasn't sure about the PP units manning the point. Didn't see Holmes, Collins, Mania, Anania or even Toure once on the PP. Weird because they played with seven D tonight.

And the Wolves missed way too many chances. Have to capitalize on your opportunities. At times they were trying to be pretty and make the nice fancy play instead of just taking the hard shot clean at the net.

Overall it wasn't a bad effort but glaring mistakes cost us and too bad as we could of given Coach MacKenzie his first win in his first head coaching gig.

I think Bishop himself was surprised he was on the ice and for the record I'm not buying the talk" it's a very good team ,we expect more ,we just need a better coach".

Their some players on this team that quite frankly, aren't good enough, no matter how hard they try. Good players make coaches look good as well.

Wolves struggled to get the puck out of zone numerous times.

I'll be watching Papineau closely, as he can no longer blame the coach for this teams issues.

Bang on brother 👍 Nice, succint summary of the game. Kind of like a “nuff said“ kind of post 😎 Kingston quite beatable, need that one.

Who's brainchild was it to put Chromiak on the powerplay in place of Holmes.Pl

Why did they come out with a new power play first unit that included Chromiak and Larmand.Chromiak is not ready to be a pp quarterback at the point because he fumbles the puck and is a liability for an odd man or break away rush against the other way.His shot is also not lethal or accurate The powerplay with Holmes was working as he is more steady at the point and his shots are hard and accurate. It was working for the 3 game win streak, why change it?Larmand is not offensively gifted either..The best powerplay unit is Goyette,Musty,Delic ,Holmes and either Konyen ,Degrazia .If Pharand is on he should be in front of the next as he lethal from the slot In.He also was a liability high near the point .The other problem last night was playing Bishop as the 7th D. They should have played 6 d and developed a cohesion which Bishop and his gaffes prevented. The Wolves missed numerous chances to put the game away and it came back to haunt them.

Yes thinking the same, I guess they want to develop him. However I would have preferred someone else, they could spot duty him at times.

I agree. The power play opportunities created no goals if I’m not mistaken. I was quite surprised to see Pharand, Konyen and Chromiak pretty much take the point on the majority of the PP. Pharand is more effective in the high slot for a one timer on the PP as we have seen the last couple of games. Quick release and accurate. Holmes and Anania should of seen some time on the point. They have good shots. I was really confused how Chromiak got a head of them without really showing that he hones a heavy shot. I believe some of these decisions including putting Bishop on the ice in a one goal game with under 10 minutes could be reasons for their loss. Wolves best themselves in my opinion.

Once again Derbidge is off our team roster does anyone know what’s going on? I wish our management would make some announcements on player personnel. What’s up with Robinson and the open overage spot? Frustrating to see the team lose close games when you know another quality OA could really help this team.

New to the forum, and Sudbury isn’t my hometown team, but this team is one I am starting to pay close attention to.
Sudbury has drafted well, and I think the addition of McKenzie will make this team start turning heads as early as spring.
A few of note:
Musty is a work in progress imho, but has some huge potential
Villaneueve showed at U17 he has some upside for putting up huge numbers
Kieron Walton and Andrew Gaulton both snubbed for U17. Walton is a bit rough around the edges but you can’t teach 6’6 with hands and speed.
I know Gaulton is injured but he was outstanding in the NOJHL. Sounds like minor surgery and should be back early January. Young goalies need time but this kid is big and mobile and technical. Alongside Krawchuk this could be a winning tandem in a few.
Chromiak is doing well as an 05, with C.Walton doing well in the NOJHL, again with size and skill.
Also McCharles up front making noise.
Let alone the other 04s and 05s that still have some time in the league.
Start buying tix Sudbury - give it time. This is a good team in a few.

I would think at this point, Derbidge will get moved at least by trade deadline. Robinson, I heard it was more because of disciplinary issues, but not sure if he wants to come back. Peterborough and North Bay made big trades I think it is their window to make a run this season, be interesting if Papineau makes some moves. I think we could use a D who can run the PP this could be filled by a OA if Robinson is done.

Chromiak was very likely made TOI promises (earn to keep TOI rather than earn it) to come over seas.
By all means go get Morrison or Hayes to get to 5-6 and put a wrench into plans of ‘67s, Petes, maybe even Battalion. We’re hoping almost as much as Zullich to face one of those in 4vs 5 or 3vs6 right?
Miss vs Barrie seems inevitable, but not all of the top 5 in the conference can be buyers; especially if the wolves play a small part in making prices to acquire players higher

I would believe todays game we will be without Toure who had his 3rd fight which carries an automatic 2 games. Correct me if I'm wrong. So we lose a big piece today. Hopefully Mania, Bishop and Chromiak can play strong and mistake free today with the extra ice time.

You're allowed 3 fights. Its every fight after that you get 2 games for
And looks like he only has 2. Nov 4 vs Nathan Ribau (NIA) and Nov 18 vs Connor Punnett (BAR). His only other major this year was for cross-checking
