Sudbury Wolves 2022-23 Season Thread

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Really great effort from the entire team. Toure, and Chromiak in particular have just been looking better and better every game recently.

My only disappointment tonight(and Friday night) was Goyette. Feels like he's gripping his stick a bit too tight trying to force plays.
 
Great team win! Team had jump right from the get go. I haven’t thought much of Musty this year, but what a snipe from the kid! Loved how he didn’t over celly it either. Starting to show some growth in his game. Hoping Derek can keep these boys accountable and heading in the right direction.

Of course he is, he accumulated 9 pts and was minus 17 as a 2nd time draft eligible forward. How does Peer fit into question of what makes Toure a unicorn that does things no other OHL defence man does?

Peterborough just traded for Brennan Othmann from Flint, that's a big move. Not sure what the story on Othmann to get moved, looks like it's comes during his suspension must have had enough of him. Division getting stronger if it works out for Peterborough.

The timing of needing to move Othman, Pete’s conveniently in Flint during a western trip, Flint’s want for a D and refusal to trade in conference in addition to Othman’s NTC; things could not have worked out better for the Pete’s’ imo.

Add in the fact the Sarnia 2nd turned into Kieron Walton. Incredible return for Stillman.

Things looking up in Wolves land. Wonder what role Ken will assume once Dereck gets here. Don’t suppose he’d be on the bench. Maybe go back to doing whatever it is he’s been doing? By the way anyone know? ;)

This next little stretch should be interesting. Huge game Friday and statement game. The boys should come out guns blazing. Derek behind the bench will be very enjoyable to see. Wolves got two cracks at Kingston coming up and taking all 4 points would be huge in moving up in the Conference. A true measuring stick will be their game against Ottawa. Another statement game and how they stack up against a top team. If Wolves can add a solid OA, maybe even another solid Import, and Ranger is on his A game, Wolves can play with anyone in the Eastern Conference. Now obviously come the deadline some buyers may separate themselves from the pack depending how much they buy. The boys gotta keep working hard, and let Derek do his thing with developing these guys and keep on improving team play. The last few games have been very enjoyable to watch and a much more positive vibe around the team. It always goes a bit quiet on here when the team does well :popcorn: long season still to go, keep it up boys.

Ya it does get more quiet. I think both because we’re in a wait and see anticipatory state and also because some on here are so used to and comfortable complaining they feel a little lost when they’re isnt much to complain about. Not sure about other boards but ir’s been a trend on here for years, albeit there has historically been a lot more to complain about with the woofers.

Papineau needs to stick his neck out once in a while. The fan base deserve a bit of run here. I think these two years are our best chances. Get a couple of pieces in now and have a good battle and hope the cogs we have coming back next year use the experience to push them further next year. Just my thought!
