Boy that was ugly but I will take it. We need Musty back badly!

Way to hold the fort Krawchuk. Simple, square, and technical.

Its the Wolves! He will disappear vs everyone else. As for the goalie Brassard he needs to stick to the back up role. There is no sense for him to take the starts. He is not better than Krawchuk regardless of his Q experience and being an overage. Krawchuk is the most technical guy out of Brassard and Ranger. I would rather lose with him imo. Whoever decided on Brassard over Ranger has rocks in their head. Did they even watch this guy play??? There is no way much thought was put into this decision. Its really not looking good on all involved. Derek looked extremely frustrated behind the bench.

As for the penalty to Villeneuve that lead to the 4th Niagara goal is deserving of centre spot on the bench the rest of the night. Selfish considering we are down players. Bishop continues to struggle.

Lets see if they can hang onto this game in the 3rd period. They lose this one it will come back to haunt them come standings in March. What a awful game to watch anyway.

Nate Sawchuk!!! Is the man!!

Toure needs to get back soon as well. Connor Walton, let’s have a look. Call up Protz…Bishop is struggling.

Not a pretty game got the win. It's time to play Krawchuk more regularly he has earned it. My gut feeling I wouldn't be surprised if Brassard bails on the team, he is struggling could pull the pin, this just a feeling I have. I didn't want to make a quick judgement on Brassard after one game, but I have seen enough not upgrade to Ranger. Papineau rolled the diced on this one. Let's give Krawchuk more opportunity at this point, he is more technical, playing well of late, more he plays more experience and confidence he gets.

You can’t just look at stats and make that determination. Quality of shots, odd man rushes, penalties, back checking, forwards blowing the zone too soon all play into “stats”. Instead of looking at numbers like that, start count the times there are opposing forwards behind the wolves defence. Take a look at these pictures, all goal, and explain why this is a goaltender issue. Now look at every game the wolves play, and the amount of goals that get scored exactly like these pictures.
Sorry with all due respect I just now came back to take a quick look at your reply, I glossed over it earlier. Don’t need to study pictures. I’ve been watching hockey a long time and my eyes are where my pictures are taken and my brain is where they’re stored, which allows me to make reasoned judgements…..like Brassard wasn’t the answer for example. Hell without Rosenzweig, the Wolves would’ve scored over 10 goals tonight. Show me some pictures of their high-quality chances professor.
Anyway let’s leave this at that. I’m done with it. If tonight‘s game didn’t convince you we have major goaltending issues and have all year nothing will.

Nice to see Assadourian getting lots of ice tonight - probably getting more ice this game than he'd get in a week for the Wolves
Let’s keep an eye on his stats. I wish him the best.

Agreed. Brassard not looking like a happy camper on the bench tonight. Would be quite the story to see Krawchuk emerge as a solid starter for this team. His last few games played he's been good. Play the kid! If Brassard ever bailed things would get really interesting.

I’m sure Ranger doesn’t think being turfed aside for a goaltender that doesn’t even look like he belongs in the league interesting in the least. Papineau owes him an apology. You either upgrade for real or you don’t.
What a ridiculously poorly researched, impulsive and desperate move. He needs to go.

It's a bad look for sure. Interesting as in who would the back up be. This is all on Papineau

Naw goaltending isn’t the problem…..give me a break, they’re going to have to try to out score them. Another goal for Boudreau. Stepping up. Crazy he didn’t start Krawchuck.
This is all on Humpty Dumpty!

Agreed This is all on Humpty Dumpty! Brassard plays for 4 teams in the Q then gets waived through the league and HD picks him up
I would bet Brassard was guaranteed minimum 90% of the starts or else why would he come here
Brassards body language says it all. He’s not the goalie HD sold the fans on
Looks good on him

Well now it’s seems unanimous. How it wasn’t obvious for some from the start Is what puzzles me. I said I’d give him the benefit of the doubt which I did but my first impressions turned out unfortunately to be more correct than I hoped they’d be.

Krawchuk will force the wolves hand for starts.

Not sure which NHL people, and his peeps from the Q Paps spoke to but he was misguided and used poor judgment.

Would never of guessed that Brassard would be worse that Ranger. Never. It's embarrassing.

I like the fact that Derek pulls him early enough to give his team a chance to win.

Not sure how likely, with all things considered, the GM would continue his search but I certainly wouldn't feel confident starting him right now.

If Brassard were to leave, then what source do the Wolves have for another goalie at this stage of the season?

Once Gaulton is healthy, is there an option to just run with a tandem of Krawchuk and Gaulton? They're inexperienced, but I don't think Brassard's experience is adding anything to the team. Brassard now has the worst SV% of any of the three goalies who have played for the wolves this year.

I wouldn’t hold your breath for Gaulton, if he plays a game again this year it will be maybe March….

Papineau sure did poop the bed on the Wolves goalie situation with regards to Ranger/Brassard. Very embarrassing
