I credit Derek for getting the most out of the players he was given. But this team lacks overall TALENT. From the net outwards. Next season Papineau is going to try and BUY talent for this supposed run next season. Stay tuned....

I definitely would love to see them add some more agile d-men over the summer. Robinson and Bishop have the combined agility of the titanic.

Not a great game, but at least a gutsy effort where they never gave up.

Really, the Wolves were by far the better team tonight and deserved the win. Coming into the season I expected Flint to challenge in the west, and they really didn’t look like a championship team- their management messed up their season.

Krawchuk played well and needs to play more for the rest of the season if he’s going to be a factor next year. The power play is terrible and needs serious work. There is significant talent on this team to make some noise the next two seasons.

What were the boys working on at practice
It was a short sharp paced formal practice really focused on transition game. After a bunch had a shoot out practice, DM worked with goyette on coming off the boards at speed and driving the net. He was really feeding hard passes for DG to control and get shot off. After about 10 minutes or so k9nyen and villenuve tried it. You could see the difference in talent in the speed and accuracy of the shot. Collins and chomiak were working on receiving a pass on the blueline, walking two steps to the left, stopping going back to the right and snapping shot on goal.
9ne thing about watching practice is differences in skill levels really pop

You can charitably say that Robinson shows the game to his pace.

He did make two great passes for goals though.

Two terrible defensive plays to cost goals, I've never seen a d-man refuse to backcheck so much either.

We'll call it an even game for him, some positive, some negative.

Did we see a big step in the maturation and growth in Mathew mania. Great drive to the net. Played a ton in the third as wolves went with just 4 d. Big thing was he played in all situations and did not seem protected.
Good - hard work, good cycle game, power play lookedbett3r at times with both player and puck movement, and of course did not give up.
Bad- goals given up on the rush, diagonal, cross ice and drop passes creating too many turnovers, too much perimeter play without creating lanes to drive the night. I keep waiting for someone to drop a shoulder and drive the net.
Hey though let's enjoy the win.
I also must say Mrs sleemans and I have found the last few games very entertaining.

yes too bad, but more important we won and not lose ground.
Exactly. The kind of game you hope to see as a hockey fan. Not usually that many of those comebacks in a season. Man the Wolves scored some nice goals tonight. Still wish they’d shoot more. I just don’t get it. They bailed the goalies out tonight. Great win ! Great game by Degrazia.

I win is a win but flint gave away that game in the 3rd. No way the should of lost that game. Papineau better have lots of money to shop next year cause this team upgrades in alot areas. The goalie shopping alone is gonna cost him plenty. The forth he spent in the summer for Ranger won't cut it.

Ya not like that’s a big deal. Not saying you but man I don’t get the grief that guy gets at all. As far as costing two goals, they couldn’t get a save for
love or money. Sure his brain cramps now and the but I wish more people took note of the good things he does rather than his mistakes. Im a D Rob fan.
I diverge slightly but man, what a great two-way player Villeneuve is going to turn out to be. Wolves talent was on display.

Flint should have never been winning. 13 shots and four goals! When our talent stepped up they weren’t a match.

What looked like it was going to be another long night listening to a huge Giroux clan turned into a pretty nice come back win. Had faith in this group when they never gave up after falling behind 4-1 on a shorty from local product Giroux. Seeing that the shots were largely in our favour I figured it was a matter of time before the Wolves would penetrate the rookie goalie from Flint. And that they did. All lines were effective. The forecheck caused Flint to turn the puck over several times in their zone. Never seen that kind of pressure before. Some renewed confidence in this group. Never backing down from the aggressive and rugged big D of Smith and Gureyv. Nice individual play from Mania to tie it up. You could just feel the Wolves were going to score again and not let this go into OT. I really liked the effort of Boudreau, Larmand, Pharand and Villeneuve tonight. I thought they disrupted a lot of clearing attempts from Flint. Also found the 4th line of Walton, Yearwood and Coughlin were good. Some nice things being established when you pound on teams by finishing checks and not being afraid.

Didn't see much of Toure in the 3rd period not sure if he was hurt or coaches decision.

As for the starting goalie that was a rough start hopefully he can stand much more tall in his next outing.

All around the O some big upsets.

Up 4-1in the 3rd no way you should lose that game. I dont care how bad of a team you are

When you watch the Wolves PP, you can see the structure and the effort of setting up at the top of the umbrella. I liked that Villie is on off wing OG umbrella as he is a pure shooter. Early in the game the puck moved slow on PP and not enough pucks on net. Later in game on PP puck and bodies moving way faster and Flint had problems handling our talent. Early in the game we beat ourselves with turn overs and bad reads/pinches. DeGrazzia goals gave us hope and turned our fortunes around. Don’t forget during our comeback Krawchuk bailed us out with some timely saves (Please reward this kid with a start or two)! Mania discovered his inner McDavid and scored a solo beauty that took fans out of their seats… coaches still holding players accountable as McCallum (2 assists) didn’t play last 4us minutes of game due to a bad penalty. 19 shots against is a good sign, 4 GAA isn’t.
