Notes after 2 periods, 6-2 team White leads:

-Villeneuve with 3 goals for team White, looks strong out there.
-Yearwood with 2 goals for team White, some nice snipes on his goals. Carrying the puck with authority.
-Rossi in net that 2nd period looked really sharp, did not allow any goals.
-Protz rock solid on D, very smart player with some great stretch passes.

How is Toure looking as well as our first rounder?

Anania and Toure both playing forward for todays game, and as we all know, Toure is not a forward lol

Taylor has been pretty quiet so far, hasn't really stood out.

I'm not going to bother with any roster predictions, given that between injuries and NHL camp, it feels like roster decisions are still 2 weeks+ away, but as usual will drop my two cents on a bunch of players below.

Braydon Bruce: Definitely was not quite as good once the veterans stepped on the ice, but still thought he played a safe simple game that will be ideal from the lower part of the lineup/injury replacements this year.

Jakub Chromiak: Thought he looked a little bigger, a little faster, and much more confident, hopeful for big things from him, especially with Mania out to start the year.

Jayden Connors: I'm very excited for the future with Connors, plays a high energy game, is an incredible skater. Really think the sky is the limit with him. Should develop well in Stouffville this year.

Nolan Jackson: Stood out less than Connors to me, but still, very clearly a skilled d-man. Don't think there will be room on the squad this year, but he should develop some chemistry with Connors in Jr. A and step into a lot of ice time immediately next year.

Owen Protz: I think he was the most impressive player in camp for me. Physical, can carry the puck, can play defence, hit some incredible stretch passes. Can wait to see him in the lineup this year.

Rory Savage: Grew on me as camp went, played with a lot of confidence, looking forward to see how he develops, and seemed to have pretty good instincts with the puck.

Djibril Toure: I hope it was to see more from other d-men in the camp, but I don't want to see him up front ever again. His skating and reach are so good, he's an important piece on the back end.

Conor Walton: Really a mixed feeling from me. I don't know that he thinks the game fast enough to play at the OHL level. On the other hand he did show some really good physicality.

Hudson Chitaroni: Hard worker, but I don't know that I saw much beyond that right now. I think he'll likely be in Jr. A locally this year and be a common callup.

Joshua Colosimo: Faded a bit as camp went on, but thought he looked like the type of guy who could be a good gritty addition to the 12-14th forward spot.

Marshall McCharles: Similar to Colosimo, but I thought he faded a bit more yet as the veterans got up to speed.

Delic: Give him the C, he's the engine for this team.

Caden Taylor: Has an incredible shot, not sure I saw too much outside of that.

Nathan Villeneuve: Lock him in as the 2C, looked absolutely dominant on the ice. He may end up being the most important player in the lineup if the Wolves hope to make a run.

Kieron Walton: Had some highlights, had some periods where he was invisible. I don't know what he really is, seemed to add some physicality, but not consistently enough to grind it out. Not sure his hockey sense is high enough to be a consistent offensive contributor. I really like him, but like i said, just unsure to what he is at the OHL level.

thanks for your views I agree with most of your comments.. Nolan Jackson will be on the Wolves this year, I can't see that he will not, skates very well, size and skilled.

I think he deserves to be, but there's a lot of competition for spots. 11 D still in camp after cuts including him.

How did Gaulton perform during camp? With the goalie depth now in place wondering if we sign Bronas and have him and Gaulton play close by. Rossi has made his 3 training camp appearance just not sure if he will be able to crack the line up. Same goes with the others in camp Marshall, Rheume. No word on Morrow.

Don't think Bronas will be signing until he's ready for OHL games, I think he'll want to keep his NCAA options open.

I thought Gaulton looked like one of the weaker goalies in camp, I think he was really hurt by losing out on a year of development.

Morrow is past tense. No longer in the cards

First preseason game is done; time to start overreacting?

Anyone else trying to buy their memorial cup tickets? Is Protz going to win rookie of the year? Are the Chitaroni's the new Pilons?

All kidding aside, nice to have hockey back.

First time seeing you guys. Villeneuve was incredible (he's really a 2006?) but got hurt at the end, blocking a shot maybe? He threw his gloves down on the ice and went down the tunnel.

Even without all of your studs playing I was very impressed.

Yikes I hope it’s not serious. Huge blow if it is .
