Playoff Scenario's

Lots to play for tomorrow with 5th on the line. Won't be an easy game, Soo will be out for blood at home after that 9-2 spanking we gave them in their barn last time
If Hamilton and Sudbury end up tied for 5th place which team gets 5th?

OHL PLAYOFF POSITION TIE-BREAKER POLICY

At the conclusion of the regular season schedule, if there is a tie for other than last playoff position, the standing of the teams in each Conference shall be determined by the following tie-breaking procedure:

  1. The team with the greater number of regular and overtime wins during the regular season shall be declared higher in the standings. (Shootout wins are not included.)
  1. If two teams are still tied, the team with the best record in head-to-head competition (based on points including overtime and shootout losses) shall be declared higher in the standing.
If more than two teams remain tied after Priority 1, the percentage of available points earned in games among the teams which are still tied shall be used to determine the standing.

  1. If still tied, the team with the greater differential between goals scored for and against by clubs having equal standing under Priority 2 shall be declared higher in the standings.
Note: For application of this clause, it is understood that the season totals for goals for and against shall be applied which includes the goal credited to the total goals for / against record for the team based on a shootout win / loss.

  1. If still tied, the team with the higher percentage of goals for plus goals against divided into goals for shall be declared higher in standings.

Therefore, any win including shootout would put us in 5th. We have tiebreaker 1 and 2 over Hamilton. I don’t think we have lost to them this year.

I sure hope we don’t see a bad goal or to like usual from Brassard. Possible opportunity at a playoff win on the line. Hey, stupid penalty right off the bat atta boy

I'm concerned that Brassard may be our starter in Game 1 of playoffs. He has started 2/3 this weekend & they chose to play him in an important game this afternoon. Even considering that Brassard may have the hot-hand as of recent, I don't trust his body of work to be starting over Krawchuk in Game 1.

Not much doubt he's the starter for the playoffs.
6-8-2-3 3.59GAA .887SV% vs Krawchuk's 13-7-1 3.21GAA .891SV%.

I guess Papineau wants to justify his decision through any means necessary.

The first PPUnit has to stop the high risk passing inside the blue line. Puck has to move more north/south to open the top of the umbrella. The second PP group sets up lower in the zone and are finding success…also, goal #1 went off of Villineuve’s face and he went for repairs and hasn’t been seen since. I hope he is ok.

You and I see eye to eye on this ! Don’t trust him as far as I could throw him. Obviously Mackenzie has more faith than we do because it sends a message starting him today. I’m holding my breath.

Unfortunately I see a scenario where they start him and then have revert to Krawchuck. Would love to be wrong but I have an uneasy feeling.

I mentioned few games ago that it's looking like it Brassard's job to lose. Things can turn quickly sometimes tho.

At this point (still early) im just feeling better having to face the Pete's. Not that that series will be easy by any means

Not sure how Brassard has the hot hand. Made some good saves in Barrie but two out of three goals allowed were weak. Krawchuck won his last start.

No, but we likely have very little chance against either Barrie or North Bay. Just reality.

Yes!!! How many times do we have to make high risk plays at the blue line!
