No. But as a kid I used to like plain mustard sandwiches on wonder bread

*hides*

There were times when I've been hungry for a snack but had nothing in the house, not even peanut butter, so I'd toast some bread and then put any available condiment on it for flavor (salad dressings, mustard, buffalo/bbq sauce, etc.).

I really don't keep sandwich bread in the house much anymore though, frozen banana smoothies are my go-to night time snack that I pretend are healthy but put too much junk food into anyway.

Definitely a New England thing. Like Brown Bread, or New England Hot Dog Rolls.

This, 100% this.

Since moving across the country I can't find real hot dog rolls anywhere, only the side-loading crusty kind that suck. New England hot dog rolls are the best, you can grill the sides in butter, I'm salivating thinking about it. I want to fly east just to get a hot dog now.

I've said this before - I have a very good friend in PA that used to freeze a dozen packages and bring them home with her every time she visited. She had never seen them before and was fascinated by the "butter the sides and grill" aspect.

Grew up in the 70's in a family of 7 kids and money was tight. Sometimes a mustard sandwich was all you had to eat. My siblings and I joke about it at family gatherings, and the various offspring think we are making it up (especially the part about not using the last piece of cheese because my mother saved that for her favorite cat).

I totally understand. I grew up in the 90's. Born in '90. I have 2 older siblings, 1 younger. Sometimes you just gotta eat what you can eat! Especially in the Summer time.

I don't take those days for granted! We were happy. That's all that matters.

Anyone ever try a peanut butter & mustard sandwich?
Enter GM with his pnut butter and pickles sammich..... 3, 2, 1

We brought 4 tubs of fluff of with us to AZ when we moved. People here had never heard of such a thing. But the eastcoasters here all offered to take them off our hands. (Hi Kate08, Frank says hi)
There are also no steak tips here, but there are no potholes.....balance I guess.

Just wait till you have one with the sides buttered and grilled. You will never eat a dog any other way.
Is that an invitation? If I am coming for the hot dog, I'd like to try the fluff and those swiss roll things we were talking about a few months back. Apparently I am missing out on a lot of good stuff!

Victoria BC
"special weather statement in effect Snow is expected on Saturday. Where: Vancouver Island and Southern Gulf Islands. When: Saturday. Hazards: Total snowfall amounts ranging from 5 to 15 cm. Remarks: A significant weather system will push across the South Coast this weekend bringing widespread snow to the region. Snow will start over Vancouver Island on Saturday and taper off to a few showers or flurries Saturday night. Due to the variability in the track of the low pressure system and the strength of the Arctic outflow winds, there is some uncertainty associated with the exact snowfall amounts. Current guidance suggests total snow accumulations up to 5 cm for Greater Victoria and 10 to 15 cm for the rest of Vancouver Island and Southern Gulf Islands. Higher snowfall amounts are possible over upslope regions and higher terrain. Warnings will be issued as the event draws closer. Be prepared for challenging travel conditions this weekend."

I find it hilarious how 5 to 15 cm`s causes panic out here on the Island, it`s classic

You live in a different world. I haven't tried those either.

Whole belly fried clams in a buttered and grilled New England roll is one of life's greatest gifts.

Please come visit so we can hook you up. Both are mind-bendingly delicious, although I usually go with just a pint of clams and a couple of lemon wedges without the roll (ironic, given the topic at hand). Lobster always on the grilled buttered hot dog roll, unless it's @ the 99, who use an equally tasty grilled brioche. Fried scallop roll on the NE hot dog roll is also killer. Any of the above always with a side of cole slaw. I don't hate tarter sauce, but I usually skip it on most fried seafood, unless I can't get lemon.

Another trip to the Red Wing incoming. Thanks @jgatie !

Whose crack was it?
Well played. I must have nicked it when I was cleaning the sleet off of it and the temp change cracked it. I can still drive the car thankfully but since I have cameras I have to bring it to a shop.

I've only had a cracked windshield once and that was due to a golf ball.
