GOOD NEWS - The first new Orange Line car to be delivered in months finally left Springfield tonight

BAD NEWS - It dislodged from the truck that was pulling it along Interstate 495 in Chelmsford on Tuesday.

Yay, another big ice storm on the way. This winter has been horrible, there were probably two days that the snowmobilers could use the trails, that is not exaggerated. Hopefully we don't lose power, it looks like a lot of ice accretion with this one.

The one we had last week was brutal. It took hubby 40 minutes to get into the car, even with the remote start getting it going. The trees looked beautiful but they were creaking ominously, which I don't like. My poor Charlie (carved bear) looked like he was drooling for days....lol.

I'll take a blizzard over a sandstorm any day. It was bad out last night with sustained 60mph winds and a sandstorm that brought visibility to zero (think a blizzard white out but with sand). The main highway (The 15) has been shut down at the CA border for over 8 hours.

It was pretty surreal. The sand looked and blew around just like snow does.

Wow, that would get into everything and must hurt too.

We have rain, 30 mph winds and dust overnight. It's not summer yet, so it's weird. Big snow in Flagstaff and huge winds there.

Part of our rain gutter dragging across the patio woke me up at 4:30am.

Where in Ontario are you caz? I have been considering a move north for some time now, and I suspect you may be north

My daughter lives in Calif and I always tell her I would take a blizzard any day over a fire.

I am in the Waterloo area - a very small town just northwest of the city. Not far from you really - definitely not the north.

It's been brutal. I feel so bad for all the towns up north that rely on the snow for business. I did a fantastic snow mobile tour 2 years ago that was cut short a bit due to lack of snow in an area, but we did 90 percent and then a little extra route. I doubt they've been able to do a single day of the tour this season.

So,I am starting to get used to the new car.

I love the Harman Kardan system.
I am getting used to no key.
I still am looking to shift (55 years of driving a stick).
The Crosstrek feels big still but is not as long as the Accord. (I can tell when I drive it into the garage)

The inside is very roomy for a "small" SUV.
I like the heated seats. I was driving home from the Bs game the other night and my back was cold. It felt nice on my old hips!

There are little things that pop up on the screen that I have no idea what they are trying to tell me. I look them up when I am done driving. The other day one was telling me that it was cold enough for there to be ice...Do I really need that??

Anyway, I think I will like it. (until the first car payment arrives).

Look at the owners manual. There might be a way to stop messages like that from displaying. I'm not sure if you can pick and choose the messages that you want to see or if it is an all or nothing shut off for all messages
