We had that norovirus stomach bug that's going around rip through our house last weekend. That was f***ing brutal. Eating is still a big challenge for 2 of my kids and they've been better for 6 days now. It was miserable.
I had that the weekend my son played in the state championships, missed the championship game. You know exactly why! Norovirus absolutely sucks. I hope the girls are feeling better now.

Then you have the other end of the spectrum. My supervisor never has less than 80 (Yes, EIGHTY!!! No exaggeration!) tabs open on his browser. He will share his screen and take an inordinate amount of time just trying to find the tab he wants to show. Drives me and my team absolutely bonkers.
This is me. I keep many tabs open, because I jump back and forth to check a lot of things throughout the day. But I do at least keep them grouped in different windows, so I never have as many as 80 tabs open in the same window, and I can find what I want pretty quickly.

No, he's got them all in a single browser, the tabs are so bunched together the icons are no longer visible. And trust me, he's not that busy that he needs to check 80+ different things during the day. He's just got an OCD urge that makes him never want to close a tab.

I wish you could save tab groups on Chrome without having to recreate them every time you open it.

Note if there's a way to do that I'm going to feel dumb lol

Click on the three dots on the upper right, choose 'History". If you recently closed the browser, there should be an entry near the top with "xx tabs" listed. Click on that and then "Restore window" to restore the browser back to before it was closed. You can also hit "ctrl-shift-T"

Warhammer?
Historical. Mostly Napoleonic era. I started building scale models too. Working on the aircraft I flew in the Nav, marked like they were in the 3 squadrons I was in. Doing a standard F-14A, a TARPS bird and a B with LANTIRN configuration and GBU-12s. Wife got me a new airbrush and compressor for Christmas which has been really handy.

Getting the custom decals right has been a chore though. I don't have a lot of phots and my memory isn't what it used to be.

Love Vegas.

Hoover Dam is a must, evening in the desert, Red Rock Canyon, drive up to Mt Charleston.

Prob my favorite thing out there is a short roadtrip up north, you take 95 all the way to Tonopah, turn west and take 395 down to Death Valley and back to Vegas. Few days in desert resort in Beatty didn't hurt either. I am going back in late May.

We stayed in the city itself this time, next time I can roadtrip to Hoover Dam.

One thing I noticed, the dryness really got to me and I woke up dehydrated both mornings (and I only drank alcohol the second night, so I think it's just the climate and possibly elevation). The weather wasn't hot at all, but you really feel the lack of humidity.

Last week, I called a woman having trouble logging in to the community user portal. Our login has a 2FA feature, where she chose to receive her passcode via email. I was able to determine that she was switching from the passcode entry page to her web-based email USING THE SAME BROWSER TAB, because she didn't know how to open a new browser tab. Well of course, the code you get when you leave the passcode page won't work when you open the login again. Like, how the hell do you get (or keep) a job in an office setting when you can't perform some of the most basic computer tasks?

When I started at TD in 2002, it was as a desktop support guy. On two separate occasions I received a help desk ticket to fix a toaster.

About this time exactly 20 years ago I got a call from the owner of a satellite truck in Somerville and the owner just said NBC needed to do a live hit from Rhode Island for the Today Show and all the RI trucks were not available.

To this day I wish I had said no.

Details were still sketchy as we headed south on I-95 but watching a steady stream of ambulances racing north toward Boston did not give me a good feeling.

It was awful to be there.

WPRI Channel 12 was doing a story that night on nightclub safety - chilling

I don't wish to be morbid, but recall this all too well.

I searched unsuccessfully for the Herald's front page picture. It was chilling. It showed the fire igniting, and as here, someone pointing their finger to bring attention to this.

A terrible, terrible tragedy.

I was out in Denver for two years, as I have family there. I hated it for various reasons, mostly because it wasn't Boston.

The altitude didn't bother me but the dry air played havoc with my skin.

If you go in the summer, make sure you have a bottle of water with you at all times. The heat, though dry, is brutal. As one of my co-workers observed, "It's like living on the surface of the sun."

...yes? lol

I was going to ask if you had met Charlie or the old man.

When I go to the Pro Shop it's fun to ask them, "Have you ever seen The Simpsons?"

Invariably they respond affirmatively.

Then I ask, "Do you know who Mr. Burns is?"

"Yes."

"You work for him."

I did, in fact - Charlie Baillie tho, the former CEO. I was his personal desktop support, what they called “white glove service” back then - and he took full advantage. I recall one time my boss calling, asking my whereabouts, and at the time I was on a ladder fixing Charlie’s garage door opener. He’d had his chauffeur drive me to his house and just assumed if I could fix a computer that I could fix anything mechanical, I suppose.

<Morgan Freeman narrating>: but he did not, in fact, fix that garage door opener

Hmm.

As stated previously, everyone should be conscripted to work in retail, hospitality, or the "service industry" for at least three months.

That would strip the bark off of a lot of self-absorbed, inconsiderate, clueless behavior.
