Positive note McDavid had a bit more jump. I'd move McLeod back into the line-up. Expect a better effort from him after sitting. Not sure who you drop.

Kane regressed a lot. Hopkins was terrible too tonight

Oilers will take game 4
McDavid had jump for the first period.

And then he was invisible.

Sure Skinner doesn't steal games, but he didn't play that bad. He's not the reason we lost.

Skinner starts next game. Ya'll just hate the guy
Hes not the reason we lost?

hes the main reason we lost, he got scored on from behing the goalline for the GWG.

He f***ing sucks, cant control a rebound, cant make tough saves.

From the guy always wanting to see more from Bouchard, its weird to see you defending Skinner when he actually sucks.

He can't be blamed for the first 3 but #4 was bad. After 3, he should be pulled.
That second goal was due to his absolute inability to control a simple shot, he blockers it right into the slot and then fails to cover the puck like he usually does.

After the game 3 loss vs Van, I was just like everyone in this city screaming for Pickard. Knob hinted post game by saying 'we need saves..'. It was the right move to sit Skinner and put in a hungry Pickard

But this time after another game 3 loss, I strongly feel that Skinner should get the nod agajn for game 4. Ya, that 4th goal was ugly, but sometimes the hockey gods choose a favorite for the game, and this time it was Jason Robertson. He was getting that hatty no matter what

Skinner made some crazy saves today, that 2nd period was so tilted, if not for Skinner, it couldve been alot worse. Knobber said the same thing post presser, which is a strong hint that Stu is starting game 4. And I think its the right decision

But the most important thing is to embrace the defeat, know why they're behind, learn and adapt. Really like what Skinner said post game, bang on imo, question about 2nd period: "its frustrating you knew they were gonna push back...we let off the gas, they started rollin and as a whole unit we were just watching them do their thing....we allowed them to do what they wanted in that 2nd period. It happens this time of year, but the faster you learn from it, the better the outcome in the near future. Its a good lesson learned for all of us....no matter what the score is, especially in the 3rd round, no team is just going to let you play and win, and we definitely learned that today."

On to game 4. Sometimes a loss is a blessing in disguise. Truly feel that the Oilers ascend their play again. Wesnesday can't come any sooner

Huh??? Can't blame him for those 3 goals, made some huge saves to keep his team in it. Should have been pulled. This makes no sense.

The 4th goal is very similar to the goal he allowed in the LA series(I think) last year. Gotta seal the toe bridge to that post.

Get rid of this f***ing loser. Let some other team try to fix him
I don't want to get rid of him. He is relatively cheap and outperforming his cap hit (in the regular season).

The problem is that Holland decided to roll the dice on a cheap backup/1B to start 20+ games in the playoffs after already seeing him incapable of that once already.

You don't roll the dice on your goalie with where the Oilers are as an organisation. Kind of baffling Holland wouldn't want to maximise this in his last year, standing pat both on D and in goal despite obvious holes.

Skinners M.O.. Most of his goals can be explained away. Bottom line is he doesn't stop enough pucks.

Let the slapshot in or let the backhand in. Don't let both in
Exactly. Like, okay Stu you're allowed to let in that first one but if so you gotta stop the rest of them. Instead he lets in a patented back breaker on the fourth one.

Sure, he made some nice saves too, but we kind of expect that from a starter on a final-four team in the NHL.

An outsider chiming in, Skinner is killing you guys. He was tracking to blow the Canucks series and he's tracking to blow this one vs the Stars. In a series where the margin between winning or losing is so slim it's hard to win with goaltending that is prone to allowing freebies. The game winner can't go in and it would have been really nice to have a save on the first goal too.

Regardless of what happens for the remainder of the playoffs, the Oilers need to look at upgrading their goaltending in the off-season. Skinner just ain't it.

Skinner isn't the guy...he has one good game followed by several bad ones

I don't give a shit if the Oilers stopped playing for 15 minute in the game...do your job and bail the team out FFS!
he's faces the LEAST amount of high-danger chances in the playoffs yet have the worst save % in the playoffs

that 4th goal was unforgiveable...a back-breaking squeaker that should NEVER go in, but always does against this fraud

there's a reason the Rangers and Stars are leading their series...LEGIT goaltenders

Of course Skinner isn't on those guys level, but we also pay him 2.6 million so it's all relative.

It's all on Holland.. not Skinner's fault that he can't help carry a team to the Cup. As much as we all hate on and blame Skinner... he is still young and only supposed to be a backup goaltender right now. It's Holland's fault that he blew $5million on Jack Campbell.

Jack Campbell did this as well, as did Mike Smith. I've never really taken as "it was the team in front of me issue" but more of a "This is me trying to convince myself to have a short memory and move on and not dwell on mistakes."

Not an expert in being a hockey goalie, but to me it feels like a goalie thing and possibly even reflective of some of the mental challenges the position entails.
Campbell and Smith never did this. Smith would stare down a d-man- but never ever has he called out his team. Campbell- that guy blamed everything on himself because he feels he should stop everything.
