Might be able to move Stoner, but that Bieksa deal is brutal with the NMC.

Not only is he a dump, but you would also be required to protect him as well. Just awful.

I don't think Anaheim will be able to move Bieksa but I firmly believe he will get bought out next off-season before the expansion draft if it comes down to that.

It's assuming that someone that isn't already on the roster is going to be replacing him when that simply isn't true. They're all on the roster right now until the final cuts are made. There will be no off-setting because they're already there on the big roster for now.

Well, if you're gonna count everybody left in camp sure. But the cap isn't based on everybody in camp. So that's a false starting point.

Doesn't that get wiped out if he waives it to get traded though?

Bieksa would actually be a good fit in Jersey. He could take some tough minutes to shelter Seversson a little bit.

So Anaheim has obvious salary problems, what would it take for a team with cash to take on Stoner's 2 year at 3,25M or Bieksa's 2 years at 4M. (Note: Bieksa needs to waive his NMC I believe but he could waive for a playoff team like Florida)

Bernier could also be a trading option since he makes 4,15M for 1 year.

Moving bad contract is costly these days so it will be pricey to move either of those defensemen. That Bernier deal has the Ducks GM looking like a clueless monkey, why would you take that cap hit for a backup when your already tight with the cap.

I mention Bernier contract yesterday and was rightly corrected that Tor is on the hook for half, so not as bad

Does Anaheim even need to clear more space once they send Stoner down to the AHL?

We can only speculate. It's a little under one million, if he clears, but every little bit can help. Without knowing Murray's plans, or what he expects to sign Rakell and Lindholm for, I don't have a clue. I suspect it's pretty close already, if we're looking just at cap. We might be able to wiggle under just by moving some small change, like this.

It the team isn't spending to the cap, however, that throws a wrench into the gears. Especially when we don't know what that internal cap would be, if it exists this season.

Especially cuz they still pay stoner when he's sent down they just get 950 cap relief so if they are on a real money budget it's no help.

They could back load the contracts as much as they can tho to keep the real money budget down this year tho.

There are options, but people here smell blood in the water, and they think they can just go after the choice pieces of meat.

Anaheim is vulnerable, but they aren't that vulnerable. The idea that Anaheim would move a top prospect, or Fowler for free is just wishful thinking on their part.

OK. Name a team that wants to give up much for a guy who
a. Has two years left then a UFA. b. come expansion if you give traded much for him you would have to protect him, and he only has a year left in his contract. c. a team with cap space or budget this late in preseason. d. trades without giving money back to the Ducks

OK don't trade him....Lindholm or Rakell isn't signed.
People criticizing the Bieska contract, about that Kesler contract, especially in a few years.

This seems entirely irrelevant to my post about how I don't want the Panthers to take on Bieksa/Stoner
