Umm, Vey is listed at 6'0, 200 lbs.

How is that to small to withstand the NHL rigors? That's bigger than Mike Richards is listed on some sites.

To be fair that is considered small for our team and our play style.

Richards is famous for being a player who plays way bigger than his size and he is the exception. The rule is we like 6'2" and bigger guys who play their size.

Slava Voynov is 6'0" 200 LBS, so is Brown.

Vey is not exactly small, Not Kozun small.

Kozun plays big though, kid is really underrated due to size. Kozun would infuse some skill and tenacity(kid is a puck hound) into the bottom Six.

The Kid can play, he is just small for a King player.

So in rolling 4 lines:

Brown kopitar williams
Frattin richards carts
Clifford/king stoll toffoli
Clifford/king vey? Nolan
Carbomb

Sexy lineup but i dont know if i trust king to protect our skill guys. I can see him on the 4th where he has nolan to back him up. I dont think im missing anyone except D and goalie. Let me know. This is one damn fine offense. All we need is pacioretty on the 1st and were set.

One thing I don't think has been mentioned is that Vey will be an RFA summer 2014. I'm sure DL will want DS to play Vey sometime this season (ie injury call up) to see if DL should resign Vey after his ELC expires.

Now, I love Stoll just as much as the next guy, but is it safe to say that Vey could do at least the same offensively and almost as good defensively if he plays 3C this season? I know that Stoll is great on faceoffs and the PK, but I think we could get that extra push if Vey was in there on the 3rd. Vey is younger and less injury prone. We could use Stoll in a trade. I know stolly has a great shot, but vey could bring something to the table right? Let's hear what you got. I'm ready for it.

I don't see how you can make the case that Vey can be replacement for Stoll, especially this season. Vey has played well at the AHL level but he certainly did not destroy or take the league by storm. Infact i would say that Vey development has been behind Stoll's at similar age. For example, by 21 Stoll has already crack the NHL, Vey, on the other hand has yet to make the show. Stoll's draft year and his first AHL season are also more impressive than Vey. So as much as we fans like to get excited about any prospects that look half decent, I just don't see Vey supplanting Stoll at least for this season

In any case, if Vey is as good as you think, then he should fetch plenty in a trade, more so than Stoll. Given that he's way younger, way cheaper, same offensively and almost as good defensively. But i doubt his value is more than Stoll...at this point in time

Small for our team, yeah maybe I can buy that. But he said he was to small for the NHL. That, I don't buy.

Stoll had cracked the Oilers lineup. Different thing. I'm pretty sure that Vey's production and Stoll's production are pretty much the same at Vey's age.

Vey's in the minors at 22 without an NHL game. Stoll played his full NHL season by now. Offensive upside my have been equal (going by numbers, Vey is actually better), but Stoll was, and is, a better all around player.
