Don't know if anyone else feels this, but I much prefer midkick sticks to low-kicks, despite generally being a quick release shooter.
I find that my technique gets the puck off quick as is, so a higher kick can compensate for power and get the puck off cleaner and more accurately. It's also better in those moments where I want to load up or take a one-timer, obviously. Didn't like CCM's Trigger 4 Pro sticks, found True AX9's to be a little better personally, and I liked the Alpha DX's mid-low kick a bit, but ultimately used Jetspeed's FT2's for awhile. Recently got an AS2 Pro for cheap, and I'm honestly liking it even better- Kicks really hard.
Not that I'm anything special, but this ideology/stick setup seems to apply to some of the best shooters in the game.
Matthews used the 1N with Bauer and Jetspeed's with CCM, Laine uses a Nexus dressed as a Flylite, Ovi uses a custom CCM build that mimics the Bauer G3, Stamkos still uses the Bauer G3 etc. Lowkick builds aren't overly present in the NHL and a lot of top shooters use a hybrid or midkick but go down in flex. A lot of Warrior Pro users also still use the Dynasty HD1 build dressed as Covert or Alpha models and most Bauer Flylites don't actually have an elliptical taper (Vapor ADV or Nexus build).
