Two observations on the 2023 draft with more than 1/4 season's data:
3rd Round--folks (me included) were comparing 2023 to 2015 due to the top picks and overall depth of the draft. It looks like 2015's 3rd round has produced 3 regulars (Cirelli, Novak, Kolesar) and several goalies. The most recent draft has enough players producing* well to make it look like 3-5 NHL regulars in the next 8 years is a reasonable projection. All of Lardis, Castagna, Brzustewicz, Pekarcik, Cataford, Ziemmer, Sidorov, Barkey, and Kärki are off to impressive starts. The goalies from round 3--see next--have also out-played their draft status.
Goalies--quite a few of the goalies are off to super starts. All of the 2nd rounders except Bjarnson are playing well. Both 3rd rounders (Fowler and Zavragin) have eye-popping stats so far. Slukynski is my personal favorite from the class and has been the USHL's best goalie--the other 4th rounder who is doing well is Miller, though his numbers aren't impressive he is on a team that struggles mightily.
In addition to the top of the draft, 2023 could be one of the best ever for 3rd rounders and above-average for goalies.
*Almost exclusively stat-watching as there are just too many players to have seen multiple times.
