He needs to figure out why he plays like that, and remember it. He was incredible last night.

Schief plays well against teams when he is buddies with a couple opposition players, always seems to have good games against the Stars, Leafs, Canadians etc.

Schief runs into trouble when he stops skating and tries to make plays when he is coasting!

Pretty hard to fault Huddy this season coaching the Jets patchwork D!

Fun game to watch. I like my team scoring. I like them having a lead of more than 1 goal. The Jets are entertaining.
Lots of good things there. Jets dominated the shot clock until score effects took over. Their domination, especially in the 1st period, was even stronger than the shot clock indicated.

I don't know how they are doing it but Maurice and Huddy are getting good defence out of this roster, this D corps. Credit where it is due.

We still don't know if there was a rift in the room last season, but if there was, there certainly seems to be none now, and that's all I care about.

The team seems to be allowed to skate and score off the rush as long as they get back to back check. I'm assuming Maurice made this change, and if so, good for him. It's the right move for this group.

Good goalies make good coaches.
Hellebuck has them playing well in the offensive zone.
More character without Buff?
Love watching 90% of Jet games this year.

 My first year with tickets - I wish I was getting to watch Good Buff live.
But I am enjoying watching them a lot more than I did last year, which was bad.

Definitely - good goalies make good coaches. Maurice has been outstanding this year.
Seriously, he has done at least some of the things I needed him to do to stay off my **** list. To some extent, he has been forced by circumstances but the bottom line is that they are playing pretty well with a D corps that has featured Kulikov, Poolman, Beaulieu, Bitetto, Sbisa and even Dahlstrom in important roles (less of Dahlstrom). Earlier in the season they looked bad winning and they were only playing weaker teams but for the last 10-12 games they are looking like good value for the wins and they have played some of the better teams.

Especially at my age.

I love a well played game between near equal teams, but even then I prefer some scoring and the lead changing hands a few times. But I really only love that when my team wins in the end. I don't like it when every game is like that.

Somewhere nice
The Heritage Jerseys do not work in this era. The numbers are too hard to read on television and it's impossible to distinguish one player from another when watching on a tablet. And the red Russian pants? Ugh, forget it.

Given the NHL's emphasis on moving towards a multi-platform, digital market, these jerseys will remain just that: a great heritage.

I don't know if it is that simple. Wheeler is much more dialed down this season. Last season's Mr. Intensity might have had the opposite effect and have Ehlers and Rosie playing more tentative rather than free and easy. Both Ehlers and Rosie have also taken steps forward in their development as players.

I think Wheeler plus Scheifele were quite possibly too intense for the 3rd guy on the line. One of them is just right amount for a mix of freedom and work ethic.

There's still a lot of folks worriedly promoting the "mine is bigger than yours" mentality, but if you're interested in facts instead of opinions, we're spending more time on our phones and tablets than we are on TV. Which would explain why the NHL and all sports are heavily promoting their digital platforms, because that's where the growth in viewership (and subscriptions) is now happening, as per NBC News in July, 2019.
