So it took them 75 games to get used to their system and new personnel? Damn, maybe we'd have gotten used to our system and personnel if we only had an extra 7 games...

Idk, seems like a team on a heater at the right time and has stayed healthy. Full marks for getting hot when it counts, but how repeatable is it?

That's the thing that people don't seem to want to admit, the parity in this league is a huge factor, getting hot or staying healthy can be the difference between out in the first round or 1 game from the ECF final, we went through it in 2017, we certainly weren't a top 4 team in the league but we were 1 OT goal away from the SCF.

Florida is not a crap team because they only had 92 pts in the reg season, but they also aren't some juggernaut because they got past Bos and are beating Toronto. They are playing well, and when they don't Bob has bailed them out, watched every Florida game these playoffs, they've been good, but they've also been overwhelmed themselves at times. Could easily be golfing right now, but for a few bounces going the other way.
They had 122 points the previous year and made it to the 2nd round. They have pedigree and really good players. It's not an average team on a heater. I think it can take a while to get used that type of change especially guys moving into elevated roles. They just beat two of the top 5 teams in the league to get out of the hardest division in hockey. Give them some credit.

Barkov and Tkachuk need to start doing stuff because your top line can't be Duclair and 2 other people I have never heard of.
That's more of a reflection of you than anything. First game you've tuned into these playoffs? Verhaege had 40 goals... has 13 playoff goals with 6 game winners lol.

Even though I’m not opposed to keeping Dorion for next year, I still wouldn’t be against Dubas coming in. Not a popular opinion, but I think he’s a good GM.

If so much changed that they needed a whole season to figure it out, they aren't a 122 pts team anymore, nobody should be saying their bad, but one of the top 5 teams they beat is a perennial playoff choker, and while I credit them for beating a banged up Boston team, it's just that, a team that was down, their top two center for halft the series and also lost its starting goalie to finish it off. Right now, a lot of the credit deservingly goes to Bob, along with some good fortune in staying healthier than the opposition. Staying healthy us part of the game, it gives you a big edge.

Yeah the line was Barkov Verhaeghe and Duclair this series.

Barkov was doing a lot of double clutching and looked unsure offensively

PP1 with Tkachuk and Barkov looked awful.

Bert get serious! What team can lose their top 2 centres plus their Vezina calibre goalie and not be greatly affected?
Well all 3 of them played... They also have guys like Taylor hall on the third line. They got beat. Florida outplayed them were more physical and wanted it more.

They both suck. Shoot for higher aspirations than terrible. What did dubas do other than over pay players that were acquired before he got there and failed to get a very talented team to the next level.

Bergevin played only 3 games and Krejci played 4 and were very ineffective in the games they did play. Compare that to the Leafs which had all their players available.

They clearly are a presidents trophy level team. They just beat the leafs in 5 and the best team in regular season history the previous round. They play the right way. Boston loaded up at the deadline they had Taylor Hall on the third line. Just stop man. Results speak for themselves. They're a really good team that plays very hard with tremendous pace. They have Reinhart a ppg player on their third line and another 40 goal scorer on their second pp.

So many holes in the argument they aren't any good it's starting to look like Matt Murray.
