Canes win it in OT up 2-0
Isles turn to complain about the refs.. missing a high stick on Mayfield just before the goal

Boston are going to have a really tough time getting by Florida. They've been outplayed most of the first two games.

Boston’s Achilles heel is their goaltending duo’s relative lack of playoff experience. I don’t think Florida will win this series but I don’t see the Bruins going all the way this year.

Watching Boston Florida...

There is a big difference between the tight play physical play of Playoff Hockey than these supposedly meaningful games the Sens played down the stretch.
Like no resemblance.
Eh, I think we’ll be great at that style of hockey, we’re young, but we like to physically engage.

I like Foligno, could be a solid vet add

Gotta say, Florida looks a lot more
confident with Matthew than with Huberdeau….

Also, where was Marchand this game… zero impact in his usual way.

Boston had that killer season, but we also know that Presidents trophy can be the kiss of death.

Bennette was a sweet add… Boston playing tough waaaay to late.

On to Edmonton…. Drai!!!!

He's in beast mode again this playoff year - goal and assist in 15 minutes so far tonight.
2 points in game 1.

As I keep watching the intensity of these first round playoff series which are fierce battles of attrition. I am an not confident with the roster that the Sens have built that we could ratchet up the physical play needed to win playoff hockey series. Yes Brady 100% definitely would and maybe a couple of others. But I still think we need more physical players.

I think Stu and G up front have it for sure in terms of stepping up when the situation calls for it.

On the back end Hammy has it, and I would be willing to bet on Zub, Chabby and Sandy. I agree that we’re untested and will need to see who rises and who sinks :)

Why the hell did Minny not go back to Gus for game 2? If he's not hurt there's no reason to do this at all and Fleury is simply not up to it anymore.

Chabby plays at one speed throughout the majority of the game.

I personally think he'd get eaten alive in the playoffs when the intensity goes up a couple levels.

How we played the whole season!

Feels like the only way the Sens know how to play is their own game.

Chaotic guns blazing high energy all offense no defense and hope your goalie has a good game.

They need a mindset shift because even if we manage to make it to the playoffs, playing such an unsustainable style is a quick exit.
It's exactly that, imo. You must come back hard every time to retrieve that puck, then transition. You can't have 2 guys in the neutral zone while the other team has full o zone possession.

Eh, again, regular season games where he was watching development for years.

He gets heated and involved, and I think he has a level to turn to when games matter in the playoffs.

He‘s a way better player than given credit for, and perhaps earned this season.

He seems to actually be a pretty fiery guy, I can’t wait to see him in the playoffs.

Yeah apparently they said that’s the way they do it. Fleury basically apologized after the game.
But it sounds like they might continue giving him opportunity.
Would be shocked if Gus doesn’t get next game though and then keeps going.
Unless there’s an illness or minor injury they’re keeping secret.

Was a dumb move.

We'd get eaten alive. Florida was close to us in the standings but I don't see anyway the Sens team puts up a similar game like they did yesterday.

MTkachuk seems to be heating it up, but him and Gaudurea choked hard in CGY against the Oil. Given him demanding a trade, he better be playing the best hockey of his life against the B's.

I wanna see the Boston-Florida series go 7 games, loads of potential for bad blood with dirtbags like Marchand and MTkachuk on each side, but absolute class guys like Bergeron and Barkov).

I may not be a DJ fan, but at least he's never done something as dumb as starting Fleury in game 2 over a goalie who saved 50+ shots and won in game 1.

Still shaking my

Tkachuk can and should be forgiven for not being a top playoff performer in the past, as I feel people judged a 24 year old way too harshly for it. He's 25 now and has a bigger role with the Panthers and so far he's doing a fine job. Even if they lose this series it certainly won't be because he didn't show up.

People keep saying Gus might have been tired after playing so much in game 1, but at his age he certainly could have competed in game 2, and even if a bit tired would have probably given a better performance than Fleury did.
