Good case for second best player in the league this year. He’s unreal.

Weird thing is I still think Brady is the better player - so when he finally gets to the playoffs it’s going to be wild. We will have the toughest player in the NHL on our team surrounded by a bunch of guys who think he’s the best thing ever and will go to war with him, throw in some playoff late night Karaoke - it’s going to be crazy

Really? I guess I haven't watched enough of Florida this year because I don't see it, particularly with guys like Pasternak having a 46 pts gap over the next closest teammate, and almost as many goals as that teamate had pts and Karlsson breaking 100 pts and 34 pts over the next closest as a Dman,

He definitely had a good season though.

He’s right there with Pasta for me.

He plays super mean and physical while also being a 100+ point guy.

I love Brady but I think that Matt is on another level. Brady is a bull while Matt is a rat but the rat scores at an insane pace.

You call on a lot of people for self reflection. Perhaps you should take some of your own medicine. I appreciate the unprovoked attacks though. It seems to follow your posting history to a T. What does Haktsol have to do with Jersey? I guess Captain Obvious should spell that out for you.
Its dishonest to say I have been posting negative takes on the team for years. 100 to 1 positive to negative. But egotistical jerks take the 1 to the bank.
Toxic is attacking posters that disagree with you or completely unprovoked like you did this time. Just don't @ me go spread your crap somewhere else.
Well i think you've been more positive this past year, I'll give you that.

100 to 1 positive to negative? That's funny.

I do call out the negativity and probably going to do more of it rolling forward... like the 7 year thing i recently commented on

you have a nice day. Hopefully we can all get along

Haha, we just need Zib and Stone out so we can relax…. Oh, and the leafs, but then there’s Paul on TBay…. Shit
I never understood hating or resenting players that have been traded away, at least most of the times. At the very worst, they just do what most people would do in taking a better paying job & trying to keep their job & occupation going. Sometimes they would prefer to remain with their team and are even reluctant to be moved, but trades happen.

Forget that

Gus didn't exactly knock it out of the park in the playoffs

Canes move on; Hoping Jersey over Rangers.
Canes Devils would be a hell of a series
The paint has finally dried. I can stop watching Isles / Canes

Yes. But I dont cheer for the Leafs, I just dont hate on them these days and would rather them than TB. 2000-2005 is ancient history, the rivalry with TO is dead.
Banned.

MTkachuk is turning into an elite player, he's a top 10 forward in the league but I'll still take Brady over him for the sole reason that he's not dirty. We have a unicorn that plays hard, but doesn't cross "the line", his brother has no issue doing that and is going to replace Marchand as the most talented scumbag in the league.

Ridiculous you can challenge this zero impact play .. but a missed trip in that same spot resulting in the same goal could not be challenged.
If challenges are going to overturn goals .. the bit being challenged should have had a large enough impact on the goal being scored.

A part of the excitement of every single goal is taken away by the fact that - on some level - you're thinking was it onside, did it hit the netting, was there a high stick, etc.

We're back to the toe-in-the-crease days where you could never fully enjoy a goal in the moment. I don't know how to make it better, other than to severely limit the number of things that can be reviewed.

Oh, it was more of a lighthearted response with a theme. I don’t really much care about ex-Sens players, or other players in general.

Though I suppose you could also question the point of why someone would continue to love a player who plays for a competing team.

Being a sports fan isn’t really about being rational, or applying reasonable social standards to your one’s make believe ‘relationship’ with players.

To be emotionally invested there tends to have to be some form of situational fantasy created. In my opinions it’s kind of what being a sports fan is all about; fantasy escapism.

The love and the hate keeps the money flowing.

I guess it is for some people like yourself. Generalizations and putting everybody in the same bucket can only go so far.

Glad that everybody in the Sens locker room seems to genuinely get along off the ice, that 2017 team went to the ECF while Hoff & EK hated each other lol

I bring this up because holy moly does the Jets locker room seem like a tire fire

Dude had back to back 40g, 100p seasons on two different teams no less.

I love that he’s dirty. On top of being one of the best scorers in the NHL he’s also one of the best agitators in the game.

Him and Brady are both unicorns but I can’t put Matt 2nd based on the offensive gap.

Like seeing Seattle in it...but hate these micro offsides taking away a goal.
The offside reviews are such bullshit. It’s a scenario where both teams keep playing, but if there is a goal, it gets called back and the clock is reset. It amounts to one-sided “free time” or “house money”. The inequity is amplified when the defending team is trying to run the clock out. If the attacking team scores, defending team gets a reset. But if the defending team clears the zone, the attacking team does not get a reset.

It’s completely unfair. If the offsides remain challengeable, then there should be an off ice lineman who real time looks for these micro-offsides, then blows the horn to stop play if there is an offside not called, much like when the video room recognizes a goal that was not called. In fact, do this and get rid of offside challenges altogether.

Well Bettman did say. when they wanted to bring offside reviews in, be careful what you wish for.

Boston's record in game 7s is actually pretty bad overall for the past decade or so, can they prevent the upset?
I don't think how Boston played in game 7s over the past decade is of any significance. I think the odds favour Boston to win this last game due to Boston's regular season results this past season which reflects the team roster playing the game.

I suspect this call might stimulate the NHL to review the rule to add some clarifying text to the rule such as "where, in the opinion of the NHL review team, the infraction clearly and directly affects a goal being scored or not being scored". It's an edge case but "clearly" requires some adjustment. :)

hand pass instituted because SJ won a playoff game in OT, on an illegal play, like offside is.
We don’t need hooks, trips etc reviewed, it’s bad enough as is.

A great description of Brady, could not agree more, a guy that everyone on the team will follow because he is at the front of the Vanguard.
