Well, when you're in a city that is probably on most NTC lists and at the bottom of UFA destinations, treating the players you have well or at least respectfully should probably be a priority all I'm saying. I think it was a strategic misstep even they don't want those players anymore.

I don't think Bowness is giving up on the team. He was upset and called out his top players for not having any push back. They have exit interviews like everyone else . That will give Bowness a chance to address each one individually. The Jets have a lot of changes looming. Its always good to take a beat but he was honest about how he felt and he was emotional because he cares. I don't think that says I give up.
I wouldn't be surprised if they do. Tossing a big boulder in the water causes a lot of waves. The team was doing quite well without Kane. That "big piece" at the trade deadline can go sideways so easily.
