The whistle really didn't effect the play.. the puck went in at the same time as the whistle blew .. its not like the whistle caused anyone to stop playing.Refs robbed Tbay with an early whistle
I still don't understand Dorion's rationale for trading Paul for Joseph. The only thing I can think of is that he had an irrational exuberance for Joseph and did not value Paul the same.He wasn't asking for that deal prior to his playoffs, it was reported he was asking for 3 mil for 4 years from us and we offered 2.5 x 4 yrs.
I do think losing Formenton and Brown made the impact of the Paul trade hurt more, I also think people have soured way too quick on Joseph. Paul was home grown (for the most part) and really popular both in the room and by fans, what's frustrating is we gave pretty much the exact deal Paul was asking for to Joseph after he has a great dozen games with us, and he's followed that up with a down year.
We have seen the refs whistle the play before when they lose sight of the puck around the goaltender. That should be a good goal.
Puck is loose .. Ripped off
I see .. big impression then.
Ouch... that hurts the Jets
I know but they have replay to get it rightWe have seen the refs whistle the play before when they lose sight of the puck around the goaltender.
I’m ok with that though. I don’t think Paul is a guy we wanted to give term to.
Joseph is younger and has room to show his worth, but I just love the speed, especially on the PK.
I think we know what Paul is, and it’s worth trying to get a little more in that bottom six than to settle on a player that I think we’d be looking to replace regardless when guys like Ostapchuk and Grieg are full time players.
I agree the league should get it right; however, I cannot recall ever seeing the league review team over-rule a call on the ice by the refs when the whistle went and the puck crossed the goal line afterward.I know but they have replay to get it right
Weird that nobody whines about losing Mike Amadio for nothing, but we're usually treated to a semi-monthly screed about how Dorion is an idiot for waiving Balcers.
I agree with you, but I’d like someone who plays mean personally. It’s a big ask these days, but I prefer Kasty’s game to Paul’s for example. We need bigger players on the 3rd and 4th line for playoff hockey. Ostapchuk might become one but I suspect he is a few years away.

I agree Paul does not play "mean". A guy like Reaves does.I agree with you, but I’d like someone who plays mean personally. It’s a big ask these days, but I prefer Kasty’s game to Paul’s for example.
Take point out of the series and make it look like “not a penalty” is easily the smartest thing reilly has ever donePoint really went in there hard.. a lot of momentum carrying him there and helped by Reilly . I agree with the call. And believe me I would love to throw Reilly out.
Naw, I’m without Paul…. I’d rather Grieg, Pinto, Kasty, Formy, Joseph and said tough player.I agree Paul does not play "mean". A guy like Reaves does.
We need a few of those, plus Paul.
He initiated the hit too far from the boards making it impossible for Point to protect himself, to me that's textbook boarding, that kind of play can end careersPoint really went in there hard.. a lot of momentum carrying him there and helped by Reilly . i'm not going to argue about it.He initiated the hit too far from the boards making it impossible for Point to protect himself, to me that's textbook boarding, that kind of play can end careers
I'm more looking to vent than argue, I just thought it was a really dirty playi'm not going to argue about it.

Holly crap, did I hear that right, point back?
Edit: maybe he said back to the point?
