I don't think I've ever seen Mitch Marner play a better game than the one he played tonight, and I've seen hundreds of games that he's been involved in.

Three goals, four points numerous scoring chances, ten shots on goal. Most of Vegas' players had zero to two shots. Didn't some of CAR's opponents have games against them where they had about a dozen SOG?

Marner deserves the Conn Smythe whether Vegas wins or loses, he's been the best player in this post season.

Tbf, there only only a handful of elite goalies in the league nowadays. Most teams have very sub par goaltending. This year the average save percentage was the worst in 31 years. lol

I'm tired of being gaslit about this but Marner being good now does not change that he was legit bad for multiple Leaf playoff runs to the point where the entireity of the NHL fanbase clowned on us for keeping him.

He's had playoff series where he was matched or outscored by the likes of:

- Max Domi (x2)
- Tyler Bertuzzi
- Alex Kerfoot
- Alex Galchenyuck
- Jason Spezza
- Max Pacioretty
- Ilya Lubushkin

There was also a playoff series vs Boston where he was outscored by Matthews despite playing less games, Nylander despite playing less than half the series.

His best playoff series were against Tampa Bay (both series we had with them) and vs Boston in 2018 when he put the team on his back. It's just that in Toronto, his lowest lows were awful.

Marner also plays on the second line with easier matchups. When he was getting top line minutes in Toronto he became invisible in the playoffs at times. As for Mcdavid he gets the hardest matchups and gets triple teamed, man. lol.

Carter Hart is no longer in the running for the Conn Smythe, he’s come back down to earth at the worst possible time. His .940SV% that he posted in the first 3 rounds was not sustainable.
