I think part of it (not all) is honestly the “flow state” of just being on ABC alternating with the NBA Finals. Lots of cross-promotion, lots more casuals tuning in because they’re being told to by McAfee, Stephen A, etc. You turn on the TV the next day and the channel is still on ABC from the day prior so casuals get invested.

I prefer the TNT broadcast itself but you can’t deny the promotional reach of Disney.
